MLB DFS Picks Today: Daily Fantasy Baseball Strategy and Tips For FanDuel, DraftKings (8/13/25)

Joe Ryan - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, MLB Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Koby's top DraftKings and FanDuel MLB DFS picks for today, Wednesday, 8/13/25. His favorite daily fantasy baseball lineup sleepers and value picks for DFS on DraftKings and FanDuel.

Welcome back, RotoBallers! After a big Tuesday slate, we have a smaller Wednesday main slate. DraftKings has a six-game slate, and FanDuel has an eight-game slate that adds the Mariners/Orioles and Guardians/Marlins games.

Make sure to pop into our RotoBaller Discord if you can. We talk baseball in there all day, and spend a lot of time analyzing matchups and lineups. There are always analysts in there ready to help, so come see what we're about. Football is also just around the corner!

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 8/13/2025, with the slate starting at 6:35 PM ET. The lineup picks will showcase elite players, mid-priced options, and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is always essential.

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Joe Ryan, SP - MIN ($9.6K DK/$10K FD)

I don't love going against the Yankees at home, but they have been lackluster with the second-worst wRC+ against RHP across the last three weeks, with 85. They are also pushing out a 24.3% K%, which is fifth-worst. And today, they face a matchup against elite right-hander Joe Ryan.

Ryan has a 28.2% K% on the season so far and a sub-5% BB% to go along with it. The Yankees are striking out a bit more recently, and as long as Ryan can keep the HardHit% low, as he has done this season with a 39% HardHit%, give me Ryan in this spot to shut down the Yankees offense.

Eury Perez, SP - MIA ($8.6K FD)

This one is for those on FanDuel. I like Eury Perez in this spot against Cleveland, which has been completely average across the last three weeks. Outside of his last outing, Perez has been dynamite. He had six straight outings of two earned runs or less, and if he can get the backing of the Marlins offense, this is a great spot for him to get a win.

In those six outings as well, he had five-plus strikeouts in all of them. Cleveland doesn't have a high K%, but a 21.3% K% is still good enough to work with. Perez was able to do well against the likes of the Yankees, Brewers, and Padres. He should be able to handle a Guardians team that has been average across the board.

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Pete Alonso, 1B - NYM ($5.4K DK/$3.6K FD)

Other than Shohei Ohtani, I believe Alonso is in one of the best spots on the slate. He gets a fantastic matchup against a bad pitcher in Carlos Carrasco. Carrasco has reverse splits that have resulted in good numbers for RHH against him. A .645 SLG and .415 wOBA are very high in reverse split situations.

Alonso is coming off a night against Atlanta in which he had two home runs and a double in their decimation of the Braves. Alonso himself has been great against RHP as well, with a .555 SLG and a .392 wOBA. It is also where he has hit 20 of his 28 home runs. Look for Alonso to stay hot here against a bad pitcher.

Brandon Lowe, 1B (DK)/ 2B - TB ($4.9K DK/$3K FD)

I did mention J.T. Ginn as a pivot option at SP, but Brandon Lowe is too hot and gets the benefit of a positive park factor in Sacramento. Lowe has hit four home runs in his last seven games, and he has mashed RHP for .556 SLG and a .392 wOBA.

Ginn has some serious lefty splits as they have hit for a .586 SLG and a .419 wOBA, setting up both Lowe brothers for a successful night in Sutter Health Park.

Bo Bichette, SS - TOR ($4.9K DK/$3.2K FD)

Bo Bichette cooled off in his last few games, but he does get a good matchup here against Cade Horton. Cade Horton has given up a .374 SLG and a .300 wOBA to RHH this season. Bichette is still mid-tier when it comes to pricing, which makes him intriguing,

The Blue Jays are hot right now and leading the AL. This is a big series for them against the Cubs, who are extremely good as well. If Horton ends up regressing like I am expecting, then this could be a monumental spot for Bichette and the Jays.

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Shohei Ohtani, SP (DK), OF (FD) - LAD ($4.9K FD)

How do you not roster Shohei Ohtani right now? He is one of the hottest hitters in the league, with his fifth homer and 10 hits in his last six games! He is getting a great matchup against Kyle Hendricks. Ohtani has had success against Hendricks in the past with three hits, including a home run in six ABs.

Ohtani has launched 32 of his 42 home runs against RHP, where he has a .652 SLG and .429 wOBA. This makes for a great cash play; as long as he continues to be red-hot, then the masses are going to roster him.

Addison Barger, 3B/OF - TOR ($4,100 DK/$3K FD)

Addison Barger has been a big piece of this team's success. He has 17 of his 18 home runs off RHP this season and is getting a solid matchup against Cade Horton. As a lefty, he matches up well against Horton, who has given up a .347 SLG and .297 wOBA against LHH this season.

Horton has done well recently, but is due for some regression. This could be that spot with the Blue Jays being one of the best teams in the league right now. Barger is still reasonably priced for someone with his talent. With him having 3B eligibility, we could realistically get an extra outfielder in this one.

Starling Marte, OF - NYM ($3.5K DK/$2.7K FD)

I think this whole Mets lineup is in play on this slate. I like Starling Marte quite a bit. Carlos Carrasco has some interesting reverse splits. This makes some of the RHH in the Mets lineup pretty intriguing, including Pete Alonso, whom I mentioned earlier.

Marte has two home runs in his last three games and has just been lighting up RHP recently. In his last five games, he is averaging an exit velocity of 104.4 mph. RHH against Carrasco have hit him for a .645 SLG and .415 wOBA. Marte has a .443 SLG against RHP this season, and at his price, I love the opportunity for a big showing.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

1. Toronto Blue Jays (Implied Run Total - 4.6) vs. Cade Horton

Cade Horton has looked good in his last four outings, which makes this a tougher stack than I initially thought it was going to be. Toronto has been so good, though, putting up a 159 wRC+ across the last three weeks with an absurd .400 wOBA as a team! I think Horton regresses against a good team here, and the Blue Jays continue to cruise.

Favorite Combo: Barger, Bichette, Springer, Guerrero Jr.

2. Athletics (Implied Run Total - 4.6) vs. Drew Rasmussen

Oddly enough, the last time Rasmussen gave up more than two runs in a game was against the Athletics in Tampa. This time, they are in the other minor league stadium in Sacramento; therefore, Rasmussen can get punished once again. The lefties in the lineup should have a field day with Rasmussen.

Favorite Combo: Soderstrom, Kurtz, Rooker, Butler

3. New York Mets (Implied Run Total - 5.4) vs. Carlos Carrasco

I almost went Dodgers here, but I elected to go with the Mets against the 38-year-old Carlos Carrasco. Carrasco has been tormented for 30 runs in just under 44 innings of play this season. Both sides of the plate have punished him, but the RHH have done him in especially.

Favorite Combo: Lindor, Alonso, Marte, Nimmo
