MLB DFS Picks Today: Daily Fantasy Baseball Strategy and Tips For FanDuel, DraftKings (8/9/25)

Jordan Beck - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Injury News

Andy's top DraftKings and FanDuel MLB DFS picks for today, Saturday, 8/9/25. His favorite daily fantasy baseball lineup sleepers and value picks for DFS on DraftKings and FanDuel.

Happy Saturday, RotoBallers! This evening, we have a jam-packed 11-game slate on DraftKings and a 10-game slate on FanDuel, which means we will have to take an even deeper dive to ensure we are targeting the right hitters and pitchers.

On the hitting side, we could see the scoreboard lit up in the desert. On the bump, we will see high-upside strikeout southpaws like Joey Cantillo and Blake Snell take the mound, and welcome back Michael King!

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 8/9/2025, with the slate starting at 7:05 PM EST. The lineup picks will showcase elite players, mid-priced options, and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is always essential.

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Joey Cantillo, SP - CLE ($7.7K DK/$8K FD)

In DFS, it is crucial to chase upside, especially when selecting your pitcher. Cantillo has been shaky at times this season, but enters this contest sitting with an elite 29.5% K Rate, which places him in the 90th percentile among qualified pitchers.

Since July 1 (27 1/3 innings), the southpaw has struck out an eye-catching 36 hitters while holding a 4.94 ERA. He is a strong play to allow you to target high-end hitters with your salary. At his price, he is a smash play.

Blake Snell, SP - LAD ($8.7K DK/$10K FD)

My other pitcher has made only three starts this season, but looked like his dominant self in his return. On August 2, facing the Tampa Bay Rays, Snell struck out eight hitters across five innings of work.

This evening, he will face the Blue Jays, who have posted the lowest K% since the start of July. Despite this, Snell carries the highest strikeout upside on the slate and is worth a spot in your lineup. When he is pitching at his highest level, he is a Cy Young frontrunner, and he appears to be rounding into form. Snell is a steal at his price on DraftKings.

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Note - All advanced data referenced is from July 1 and on unless specifically noted

Shea Langeliers C, ATH ($5.2K DK/$3.3K FD)

The 27-year-old enters this game as one of the hottest power hitters in the sport, and I love his matchup against Baltimore right-hander Brandon Young. Over his last 12 games, Langeliers has launched eight home runs with a 1.425 OPS.

This evening, he will face Young, who has struggled to command his cutter (generating a 421 xwOBA in August and a .372 xwOBA in July). When facing this pitch from right-handers, Langeliers has generated a remarkable .554 xSLG with a .571 ISO.

Michael Busch, 1B, CHC ($4.4K DK/$3.2K FD)

While the first baseman has only gone deep once over his last 16 games, I expect that to change this evening. He is slated to face St. Louis right-hander Andre Pallante, who has struggled to find much success with his four-seamer, which he has deployed 38.7% this month and 40.2% in July. In July, this pitch carried a hefty .353 xwOBA.

When facing four-seam fastballs from right-handed pitchers, Busch has been elite, boasting a .988 xSLG. His underlying metrics suggest this is the perfect match for him to snap this cold stretch.

Jose Ramirez, 3B, CLE ($6.1K DK/$3.9K FD)

Entering Friday, Jose Ramirez has gotten a bit cold, going just 1-for-12, but fading him in this strong match is not a wise decision. He will face four-seamer heavy right-hander Sean Burke. When facing four-seam fastballs from the right-handed pitcher position in July, the switch-hitting third baseman has posted a .673 xSLG and a .453 xwOBA, the highest marks on the team.

Before this minor slump, the third baseman posted an elite .353/.459/.647 slash line with three doubles and four round-trippers over his last 13 contests.

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Note - All advanced data referenced is from July 1 and on

Jordan Beck, OF - COL ($4K DK/$2.9K FD)

The 24-year-old enters this game carrying an impressive 1.192 OPS over his last nine games (entering Friday). During this stretch, Beck has gone deep three times, tallied seven RBI, and scored six runs.

He should be a great spot to stay hot, facing four-seamer-heavy southpaw Eduardo Rodriguez. When facing four-seamers from left-handed pitching, Beck has generated an eye-catching .863 xSLG with a .567 xwOBA.

Seiya Suzuki, OF - CHC ($4.9K DK/$3.5K FD)

Like his teammate Busch, Suzuki should be in an excellent spot to attack Pallante's weak four-seamer. When facing this pitch since the start of July, Suzuki has posted a .814 xSLG with a .489 xwOBA, which are both the second-highest marks on the team, only trailing Busch.

Suzuki recently snapped his cold streak by going 2-for-4 with a home run during Wednesday's contest against the Reds and is a great spot to stay hot this evening.

Kyle Stowers, OF - MIA ($5.7K DK/Not on FD main slate)

My final outfielder to highlight is a breakout star, Stowers. Over his last 12 games, Stowers has tallied nine RBI while holding a .273/.313/.455 line and a .767 OPS. This evening, he will face a sinker-heavy right-hander, Erick Fedde.

When facing sinkers from right-handed pitching, Stowers has been one of the best hitters in the Miami lineup, generating a .470 xSLG, .316 xBA, and a .333 ISO.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

Note - All advanced data referenced is from July 1 and on

1. Colorado Rockies vs. Arizona Diamondbacks

My top stack is actually an entire "game" stack between the Rockies and Diamondbacks. With Rodriguez and Bradley Blalock taking the mound, both offenses can light up the scoreboard. As noted above, Rodriguez's four-smear (36.2% usage in July) was quite ineffective, carrying a .498 xwOBA.

Blalock has posted a 7.68 ERA and a 1.66 WHIP over his first 38 2/3 innings this season.

Favorite Combo COL: Beck, Doyle, Goodman

Favorite Combo ARI: Marte, Gurriel, Locklear

2. Chicago Cubs at Andre Pallante

Pallante has posted a 4.93 ERA with a 1.24 WHIP across 34 2/3 innings since the start of July. As noted when discussing the Cubs' hitters, his four-seamer, his primary pitch, has been quite ineffective. In July, this pitch generated a .457 xSLG with a .353 xwOBA.

In August, it has not fared much better, carrying a surface-level .523 wOBA and a .727 SLG. Despite Chicago's recent cold stretch at the plate, they have an excellent match to break the skid this evening.

Favorite Combo: Busch, Suzuki, Crow-Armstrong

3. Cleveland Guardians at Sean Burke

The 25-year-old enters this game sitting with a high 5.01 xERA and the 19th-highest in barrel rate among qualified pitchers. In his last 23 2/3 innings, Burke has posted a 4.94 ERA with a 1.44 WHIP.

In July, his primary pitch, the four-seamer, has posted a high .426 SLG with a .347 wOBA. His No. 2 pitch, his curveball, has not found success as well, carrying a .365 xwOBA.

Favorite Combo: Ramirez, Manzardo, Naylor, Fry
