The St. Louis Cardinals have promoted corner infield prospect Deniel Ortiz to High-A Peoria. The 20-year-old, selected in the 16th round of the 2024 draft, has impressed with his athleticism at Single-A this season. Ortiz slugged 10 home runs and stole 31 bases over 76 games while slashing .287/.409/.450. He's maintained a modest 27.4% strikeout rate, showing promise at the plate. Ortiz's strong showing at Single-A has earned him the promotion, and if he continues to progress, look for him to climb the Cardinals' prospect rankings.--Shaun Albin
