NHL DFS Analysis and Picks for 3/25/25

Tonight, we have a 10-game slate and two teams playing on a back-to-back: Minnesota and Detroit. Tonight’s slate offers value across the board, offering creativity when building lineups.

The currently live top-3 highest implied team totals are: Tampa Bay Lightning with 4.1, Colorado with 3.9, and Ottawa with 3.6. I will do my best to guide you through this 14-game slate on DraftKings and FanDuel starting at 7:00 p.m. EST.

DISCLOSURE: Make sure to monitor the NHL news feeds for the latest player status and injury news.

DraftKings and FanDuel Goalies - NHL DFS Picks

Adin Hill - DK $7.8K || FD $7.7K

Opponent - at Minnesota Wild

Adin Hill is one of many projected starting goalies on the slate tonight with good form in their last 10 respective split starts. In Hill’s most recent 10 away appearances, he has a 1.4 Goals Against Average, a 0.51 Goals Saved Above Expected Per 60, and a 0.945 Save Percentage. What differentiates Hill from the other goalies is his matchup.

The Minnesota Wild will be playing the second half of a back-to-back on the road and, at the time of writing, are currently losing 2-0 to the Dallas Stars. On the slate, the Wild are the fifth-best in value when analyzing Shots Per Goal Per 60. This sets up Hill for a favorable saves floor at a minimum. Considering the netminder has registered four straight performances with double-digit fantasy points, his chances of extending that streak are high against the Minnesota Wild.

Others To Consider (Cash/GPP):

  • Jordan Binnington (DK $7.8K || FD $7.6K) vs. Montreal Canadiens
  • Tristan Jarry (DK $7.2K || FD $6.9K) at Tampa Bay Lightning

DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NHL DFS Picks

Nathan MacKinnon - DK $9K || FD $9K

Opponent - vs. Detroit Red Wings

Another team playing the second half of a back-to-back on the road is the Detroit Red Wings. At the time of writing, they are currently winning 2-1 in Utah. Comparing their last 10 away games to their last 25 away games, their overall play has barely improved. They will also be rolling out projected starter Cam Talbot, with teammate Petr Mrazek starting last night. Since the start of March, in four appearances, Talbot has a 0-4-0 record with a 4.09 Goals Against Average and a 0.849 Save Percentage.

Unfortunately, Nathan MacKinnon is not blowing anyone away with his metrics in the last five games, either. The center has one goal, two assists, 21 shots, and two blocked shots. MacKinnon is putting in the work but is not seeing the expected outcome, and it will change sooner rather than later. Is tonight the night MacKinnon explodes for a 20-or-more fantasy point performance?

Morgan Frost - DK $4.6K || FD $4.9K

Opponent - vs. Seattle Kraken

Morgan Frost and the second line for the Calgary Flames are quietly carrying the offensive production. Frost has one assist, nine shots, and eight blocked shots throughout his last five outings. Despite the lack of points, the second line generates the most scoring chances for the Flames.

Luckily, Frost has an optimal matchup against Joey Daccord and the Seattle Kraken. In his last 10 away games, Daccord has a 3.04 Goals Against Average, -0.18 Goals Saved Above Expected Per 60, and a 0.901 Save Percentage. Furthermore, the visiting netminder is one of two goalies on the slate with a 3.00 or worse Goals Against Average in their last 10 respective splits. For under $5K on DraftKings and facing the struggling Seattle Kraken, this sets up Frost for a solid night of production.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):

  • John Tavares (DK $6.3K || FD $7.6K) vs. Philadelphia Flyers
  • Jesperi Kotkaniemi (DK $4K || FD $4.6K) vs. Nashville Predators

DraftKings and FanDuel Wings - NHL DFS Picks

Valeri Nichushkin - DK $6.6K || FD $6.7K

Opponent - vs. Detroit Red Wings

Valeri Nichushkin has been the primary benefactor of the top-6 lineup shuffle for the Colorado Avalanche. Moving onto the top line, Nichushkin has three goals, three assists, 14 shots, and three blocked shots in his most recent five games.

As mentioned above, the Detroit Red Wings are playing well enough to stay afloat in most games, and that is it. Rolling out Talbot on the backend of the back-to-back for the Red Wings sets up Nichushkin for a potentially significant performance.

Zack Bolduc - DK $4.3K || FD $5.3K (Note: He is listed as a Center on FanDuel)

Opponent - vs. Montreal Canadiens

Zack Bolduc has the possibility of being one of the highest-owned players in any position on the slate. Not only does he have a premium matchup, but he is also under $4.5K on DraftKings, playing on the top line for his club. In his most recent five outings, he has two goals, two assists, nine shots, and two blocked shots. Furthermore, he is riding a three-game point streak.

Montreal is expected to roll out Sam Montembeault in the net, and he has been playing exceptionally well. Montreal is also relying on him to do just that. In their last 10 away games, they are the second-worst in Scoring Chances Against Per 60, and they are a bottom-10 club in High-Danger Chances Against Per 60. Can Bolduc keep his point streak alive?

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):

  • Brandon Hagel (DK $6.2K || FD $8K) vs. Pittsburgh Penguins
  • Zach Benson (DK $4.1K || FD $4.6K) vs. Ottawa Senators

DraftKings and FanDuel Defensemen - NHL DFS Picks

Rasmus Andersson - DK $5.3K || FD $5.4K

Opponent - vs. Seattle Kraken

Tonight, there are two ways to build lineups. Pay up or pay down at both defender positions, and the former will be highlighted here. Rasmus Andersson is expected to take over as the quarterback of the top power-play unit for the Calgary Flames if teammate and fellow defender Mackenzie Weegar is ultimately listed as out. In Andersson’s last five games, he has one goal, four assists, eight shots, and seven blocked shots. Three of those assists came in the 4-3 win over the New York Islanders with Weegar out of the lineup.

The Seattle Kraken are not playing poorly, despite their results. Their goaltending does not help, though, sitting in the bottom 10 in Goals Against Per 60 over their last 10 away games. As mentioned above, Daccord is trending down, and he is one of the only goalies who meets all of the criteria to attack. If Weegar does sit his second consecutive match, Andersson becomes one of the top-value defensemen, even with his ‘higher’ salary.

Justin Faulk - DK $5K || FD $5.6K

Opponent - vs. Montreal Canadiens

Justin Faulk may be the hottest defender in the league right now and making his case as the hottest player overall, going up against now-injured Tomas Hertl of the Vegas Golden Knights. Faulk produced two goals, five assists, five shots, and seven blocked shots throughout his most recent five appearances. He now gets arguably his best matchup in his last six games, playing host to the Montreal Canadiens.

As previously mentioned, the visitors are once again relying on their goaltending to keep them alive. If Faulk locks in early against a weak defense, he will reach value and more.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):

  • Daniil Miromanov (DK $2.8K || FD $3.8K) vs. Seattle Kraken
  • Jacob Bernard-Docker (DK $2.5K || FD $3.8K) vs. Ottawa Senators
