2025 NFL Mock Draft: Quarterback Only Edition

Jaxson Dart - College Football Rankings, NCAA CFB DFS Lineup Picks

Justin's quarterback-only 2025 NFL Mock Draft. NFL Draft projections for quarterbacks Cam Ward, Shedeur Sanders, Jaxson Dart, and more for 2025.

The 2025 NFL Draft isn't really the deepest as far as quarterbacks go. There are two obvious names at the top of the draft in Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders, but things dry up rather quickly past that.

That's not to say there isn't quarterback talent here. There might not be a ton of players with superstar upside, but there are players who could be quality starters or even just high-end

Let's predict where quarterbacks will be taken during the first four rounds of the 2025 NFL Draft. Note: this mock is done without accounting for draft-day trades. It's very possible that Cleveland trades down from No. 2, for example, and that someone comes up to that spot to take a quarterback.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

First Round NFL Draft Quarterbacks

1. Tennessee Titans - Cameron Ward - Miami

There's a lot of uncertainty at the top of this draft. Yes, Tennessee needs a quarterback and yes, there are two quarterbacks projected to be drafted near the top of this class, but the Titans taking Cam Ward isn't a slam dunk. Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter is a potential game-changing defender.

However, at the end of the day, it's a quarterback league. Will Levis is clearly not the answer for the Titans, so the team will ultimately take the best available quarterback in this spot. You could argue whether that's Ward or Sanders all day, but Ward feels like the higher upside play.

3. New York Giants - Shedeur Sanders - Colorado

The Browns could use a quarterback at No. 2, but with so much money still invested in Deshaun Watson, it might make more sense financially to wait another year, or at least to wait until Round 2 and spend this pick on Carter to continue focusing on the defensive side of the ball.

The Giants at Pick 3 would certainly go with Shedeur Sanders in this scenario. The Colorado passer might have some limitations as far as mobility, but he's got an arm that can make any throw.

If New York signs Aaron Rodgers, maybe this will change, but for now, it makes sense for the G-Men to go quarterback. (And honestly, Rodgers isn't the answer for New York, so this should still be Sanders even if Rodgers signs with the Giants.)

21. Pittsburgh Steelers - Jaxson Dart - Ole Miss

The Steelers are running out of quarterback options. Justin Fields is gone. The top free agents are gone. At this point, Mike Tomlin is likely to be stuck with a veteran stopgap again.

That's why the Steelers are going to reach Pick 21 and take Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart. Dart is an accurate passer who can get the ball where he needs to get it. He'd be excellent on an offense with George Pickens and D.K. Metcalf because those two receivers are good enough to cover some of Dart's flaws.

Dart won't be an elite NFL quarterback. However, the Steelers are accustomed to going 9-8 with zero post-Ben Roethlisberger stability. Just adding in someone who can be counted on to be around for years will up this team's ceiling.

Second Round NFL Draft Quarterbacks

33. Cleveland Browns - Jalen Milroe - Alabama

If the Browns pass on a quarterback in Round 1, they could turn their attention to Jalen Milroe here in Round 2.

Jalen Milroe is probably the most interesting quarterback prospect in this class. He's by far the best rushing QB, someone who can make huge plays with his legs, but he's also struggled with accuracy at times.

The Browns have backed themselves into a corner at quarterback because of Deshaun Watson. Taking a project like Milroe is one way of attempting to claw their way out of things. Cleveland's history of quarterback failure doesn't lend much confidence to Milroe hitting his upside if he lands there, but for the Browns, this is a good bet to make.

Third Round NFL Draft Quarterbacks

71. New Orleans Saints - Dillon Gabriel - Oregon

Dillon Gabriel probably hoped transferring to Oregon last year would give him the same boost that playing in the Ducks offense gave Bo Nix. That wasn't quite the case, but Gabriel should still be one of the first five or six quarterbacks off the board.

New Orleans is in a tough spot in this draft, as the team was selected ninth in Round 1. They can't afford to take a quarterback there. But then, at Pick 40, there's a good chance the top four quarterbacks are off the board and that there isn't really another option worth a second-round pick.

That leaves them waiting until Round 3 for Gabriel, who would compete for the No. 2 job behind Derek Carr unless the Saints move on from Carr. Gabriel is undersized and doesn't have quite enough zing on his passes, but he's very accurate in the short and mid-passing games.

73. New York Jets - Quinn Ewers - Texas

The Jets signed Justin Fields in free agency, but only to a two-year deal. That suggests that while they'd love for him to be the quarterback of the future, the door is open for that to not be the case.

Quinn Ewers is an interesting prospect. It felt like he never quite lived up to expectations in college, but he has a good arm and an ability to make plays on the move.

With that said, Ewers needs time to sit and work on his pocket presence as well as making plays more consistently, but the Jets are likely intent on giving Fields the full 2025 season to prove he can be their quarterback, so Ewers will have time before he's thrown into the fire.

90. Los Angeles Rams - Tyler Shough - Louisville

The Rams seem to like older quarterback prospects. They drafted Stetson Bennett in the fourth round in 2023, for example.

Tyler Shough has really risen up draft boards recently. His advanced age is a concern after spending seven years in college, but he's got ample experience playing in different offensive schemes, as well as a lively arm that can make most throws.

Los Angeles just re-signed Jimmy Garoppolo as their backup, but at this point, I don't think Jimmy G's presence is enough to take QB off the Rams draft board. Matthew Stafford isn't getting any younger. Having a young guy with the experience to step in if needed would be huge.

Fourth Round NFL Draft Quarterbacks

114. Carolina Panthers - Will Howard - Ohio State

The Panthers learned in 2024 that Bryce Young can probably be the team's long-term starter, but that conclusion isn't strong enough to preclude them from adding talent on Day 3 of the NFL Draft.

Will Howard is coming off a national title-winning season at Ohio State. He knows how to stand tall in the pocket and get the ball where it needs to go, but he doesn't have the world's strongest arm.

Carolina just re-signed Andy Dalton for two years, but Dalton will turn 38 in October. He's not the long-term answer for who the backup QB in Carolina will be. By drafting Howard, the Panthers could be getting a talented, young backup.

135. Miami Dolphins - Kyle McCord - Syracuse

Like the Panthers, the Dolphins have a starting quarterback with some question marks. In Miami, those questions aren't about talent, but rather about if Tua Tagovailoa can stay healthy.

It's important that Miami develops someone who can serve as an insurance policy for Tagovailoa. Signing Zach Wilson in free agency probably isn't the answer to that.

That's why the Dolphins could take a Day 3 flyer on a quarterback. Syracuse's Kyle McCord is an option after a strong season with the Orange.

He's not the most mobile quarterback in this class, but he's a consistent pocket passer who probably has more upside than anyone else Miami could bring in as the No. 2. Yes, I'm arguing that he's better than Zach Wilson. We've seen enough of Wilson.
