Third Base Fantasy Baseball Value Picks for Points Leagues (2025)

Josh Jung - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Injury News

Joey's top third base (3B) fantasy baseball sleepers and values for points leagues in 2025. His value picks for fantasy baseball points leagues and H2H points.

The fantasy baseball season is right around the corner, which means it's time to really start researching for your drafts. In this article, we will dive into the third base landscape and look at the biggest values at the position for points leagues.

When looking at which third basemen to select in drafts, most fantasy managers will want to have the top ones at the position. Players like Jose RamirezRafael DeversAustin Riley, and Manny Machado are all going within the first three rounds. However, if you miss out on those elite players early in drafts, there are plenty of other third basemen to target in the later rounds.

So, who are the best value picks at the third base position in points leagues heading into the 2025 season? Let's dive in and find out. Be sure to also check out all our other fantasy baseball points league articles, and bookmark our constantly-update fantasy baseball points league rankings.

Jake Burger, Texas Rangers

ADP: 112.3

Infielder Jake Burger was traded from the Miami Marlins to the Texas Rangers this offseason. This will now be Burger's third different team that he will play for in two years. However, this move to Texas could actually raise Burger's fantasy ceiling in 2025. He will hit in a better lineup and have the chance to launch 30 home runs again.

Burger has hit 29 home runs (2024) and 34 home runs (2023) over the past two years while driving in at least 75 runs in back-to-back seasons. Therefore, it's reasonable to expect even better numbers from him in 2025. His expected slugging (.476), barrel rate (12.3%), and hard-hit rate (46.8%) all ranked in the top 20% of the league last year, and now, he'll be hitting in front of stars like Marcus Semien and Corey Seager.

As a result, he's a fantastic points league target at his 112.3 ADP. Burger should hit over 30 home runs and drive in upward of 80 runs this upcoming season. Given how important home runs are in this format, it's hard to pass on the Rangers infielder. He should also have first-base and third-base eligibility in 2025, making him an even nicer target in drafts.

Matt Chapman, San Francisco Giants

ADP: 130.3

There are several reasons to like San Francisco Giants third baseman Matt Chapman in fantasy this season. He has played at least 150 games and hit at least 27 home runs in three of the past four seasons. In addition, he just finished as the 3B5 in points leagues last year. His 542 fantasy points on Fantrax were more than what Machado (529), Jazz Chisholm (527), and Devers (517) scored in 2024.

That's why Chapman is one of the best value picks at the position currently in drafts. Even though his home stadium (Oracle Park) is referred to as a pitcher-friendly park, that didn't seem to affect the veteran's overall numbers last season. He hit .247 at the plate with 27 home runs, 39 doubles, and 78 RBI across 154 games.

There's also reason to believe those strong numbers will only continue for Chapman in 2025. His average exit velocity (93.2 mph), barrel rate (12.6%), and bat speed (76.6 mph) all ranked toward the top of the league last season, and his barrel rate has ranked in the 85th percentile or better in six straight seasons. So, the 31-year-old will likely finish the year with solid home run, double, and RBI numbers.

Eugenio Suarez, Arizona Diamondbacks

ADP: 150.3

Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman Eugenio Suarez is one of the best value picks at the position this year. Not only did he score the ninth-most fantasy points among all third basemen last year, but his power should help him be a consistent fantasy option for managers in 2025. Suarez has hit at least 30 home runs in three of the past four seasons.

The veteran was also one of the best hitters in baseball to end the 2024 season. From July 13 to September 29, Suarez batted .313 at the plate with 21 home runs, 14 doubles, and 57 RBI. During that span, both his 21 home runs and 57 RBI ranked third in the majors. So, he's definitely worth taking a chance on at his 150.3 ADP.

Of course, Suarez will go through plenty of slumps and might strike out over 175 times at the plate, but his ability to play almost every day while continuing to put up top-notch home and RBI numbers makes him a steal in drafts. Given that his 40.4% launch angle sweet-spot rate was the best of his career last year, there's no sign of his bat slowing down heading into 2025.

Isaac Paredes, Houston Astros

ADP: 180

New Houston Astros third baseman Isaac Paredes will be a better fantasy option in points leagues than some might think. For starters, he has the power to contribute solid home run numbers. Although his 19 homers were a bit disappointing last year, he is just two seasons removed from launching 31 home runs with the Tampa Bay Rays in 2023.

Now, fantasy managers shouldn't really expect Paredes to hit 31 home runs in 2025. But there's no reason he can't be a 25 to 28 home run guy, especially hitting at Daikan Park (formerly known as Minute Maid Park) for half of the season. The left field dimensions at Daikan Park sit at 315 feet, and the third baseman has hit every one of his 72 home runs to left field in his career.

As a result, Paredes can be a reliable fantasy option this season. He has been hitting second in Houston's spring training games and has the potential to drive in 80-plus runs for the third straight year. The 26-year-old has also been known to have a good eye at the plate, as his 16.4% strikeout rate and 11.9% walk rate ranked in the top 20% of the league in 2024.

Josh Jung, Texas Rangers

ADP: 205.3

Texas Rangers third baseman Josh Jung only appeared in 46 games last year due to a fractured wrist, so it was basically a wash season for the 27-year-old. He hit just .264 with seven home runs, five doubles, and 16 RBI. However, there's a good chance that Jung will have a bounce-back season in 2025.

The last time the Rangers' third baseman played a full season was back when he was a rookie in 2022. Jung played 122 games that season and finished fourth in the American League Rookie of the Year voting. That year saw him hit .266 at the plate with 23 home runs, 20 doubles, and 70 RBI. He also ranked in the 83rd percentile or better in launch angle sweet-spot rate (41.9%) and expected slugging (.482).

So, we could see Jung put up those types of numbers once again in 2025. That makes him an insane value pick in fantasy drafts at his 205.3 ADP. He is fully past his wrist injury, and the third baseman has been hitting third, fourth, or fifth in the team's spring training games. That could lead to many RBI opportunities for the former 2023 All-Star.
