NFL DFS Lineup Picks for DraftKings, FanDuel: Preseason Week 3 Fantasy Football (8/24/2024)

Bryce Young - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

The top daily fantasy football lineup picks for DraftKings, FanDuel -- NFL preseason Week 3 games on August 24, 2024. Doug's NFL DFS analysis and sleepers picks.

Today marks the final large slate of the preseason, as six games are starting at 1 PM Eastern. It appears that the Carolina Panthers will be the only team giving their starters any significant playing time, but their offense is in such disarray that they are not the strongest route to go.

Instead, this is a slate where we will be loading up with stacks of players looking to make rosters. Dallas and the Rams are the most attractive options, while Minnesota, the Chargers, and Green Bay could be contrarian options.

Here you will be provided daily fantasy football picks on FanDuel and DraftKings for the Saturday afternoon six-game slate of Week 3 of the NFL preseason on 8/24/24. These NFL DFS lineup picks can vary from high-end players and elite options to backup and contrarian players on both DraftKings and FanDuel. Thanks for reading, and good luck RotoBallers!

Preseason NFL DFS Picks – Quarterbacks

Trey Lance, DAL vs LAC

Dak Prescott won’t be in uniform for this game and Cooper Rush is only expected to see a couple of series, so it would appear that Trey Lance will get the bulk of the snaps for the Dallas Cowboys for the third consecutive weekend. Lance has been one of the better fantasy producers at the quarterback position this summer, and today should be no exception.

He has thrown for over 150 yards in each of the first two preseason games for the Cowboys and has rushed for more than 30 yards in both starts. His rushing floor gives him the edge over Stetson Bennett as your cash game quarterback, and his stacking options make him a top play for tournaments.

Stetson Bennett, LAR at HOU

Aside from Trey Lance, Stetson Bennett has been the most reliable quarterback from a volume perspective this summer. He has taken all the snaps for the Rams and will most likely do so again tonight.

Although he has had issues with accuracy, he does have a touchdown pass and over 200 yards in both starts. While Bennett will not give you anything on the ground, the Rams are deep with pass catchers, and there should be more than enough talent on the field to make him a prime stacking option in tournaments.

ALSO CONSIDER: Ben DiNucci (BUF), Michael Pratt (GB), Hendon Hooker (DET), Luis Perez (LAC), Jaren Hall (MIN), Bryce Young (CAR)

Preseason NFL DFS Picks – Running Backs

Boston Scott, LAR at HOU

Rams coach Sean McVay was clear when he said that Boston Scott would get a “heavy workload“ this weekend. McVay is one of the more reliable coaches telling the truth about playing time. Last weekend Scott had ten carries, and he should see at least that many, if not more, this weekend.

The Rams involve their running backs frequently inside the 10-yard line and Boston Scott has always had a nose for the end zone. He is the top option for cash games at running back, and his volume makes him a strong strong tournament option despite a potentially high ownership

Jaret Patterson, LAC at DAL

There is currently a battle for the third running back spot on the Chargers and Patterson seems to be in the lead. He has been running with the first-string offense a bit at training camp and has been solid in both preseason outings.

He may not get the volume of other running backs on the slate, but the Chargers will be checking down a lot to their backs as neither Easton Stick nor Luis Perez have shown the ability to push the ball down the field. Patterson is more of a tournament option than a cash game play.

ALSO CONSIDER: Sione Vaki (DET), Deuce Vaughn (DAL), Owen Wright (BAL), Ellis Merriweather (GB), Emmanuel Wilson (GB), Ray Davis (BUF), Royce Freeman (DAL)

Preseason NFL DFS Picks – Wide Receivers

Ainias Smith, PHI vs MIN

The Eagles will not be playing any of their starters in tonight’s game, and it’s unlikely that Jahan Dotson will find his way onto the field either. Multiple receivers fighting for roster positions are dealing with nagging injuries, meaning Ainias Smith could see significant usage.

He has impressed at camp and needs to show it in live game action to give himself a shot of surviving a roster cutdown. You can stack him with Tanner McKee and E.J. Jenkins in tournaments, or use him as a standalone in cash games.

Isaiah Williams, DET vs PIT

Isaiah Williams has made some noise at Lions camp and could be a surprise roster addition after the rosters are cut to 53 players. He is a speedy receiver who has performed well in both preseason games.

His uncertain roster status means he will probably get a lot of snaps in today’s game, making him a cash game play. His speed and downfield ability make him a perfect one-off in tournaments, or you can use him as part of a stack with Hendon Hooker.

Ryan Flournoy/Jalen Cropper, DAL vs LAC

The battle for the fifth wide receiver spot for the Cowboys has been a hot one all summer with Flournoy and Cropper looking like the best of the bunch. Cropper had four catches in week one of the preseason and Fournoy had four with a touchdown last weekend.

The best way to use these receivers is as part of a Cowboys stack with Trey Lance in tournaments. Either of them could be a cash game option, but their game-to-game inconsistency makes them far from locks in that format.

ALSO CONSIDER: Jalen Coker (CAR), David Moore (CAR), N’Keal Harry (MIN), Tyler Johnson (LAR), Xavier Smith (LAR), Dayton Wade (BAL), Grant DuBose (GB), Malik Heath (GB), Simi Fehoko (LAC)

Preseason NFL DFS Picks – Tight End

E.J. Jenkins, PHI vs MIN

The top two Titans for the Eagles are set in stone, and the other players battling for a roster position are banged up. E.J. Jenkins has looked excellent in both preseason games and he looks to lock down a roster position after another solid game tonight.

He should see more than enough snaps to make him a viable option in all game formats, especially given the fickle nature of the tight-end position.

ALSO CONSIDER: Jordan Matthews (CAR), Cade Stover (HOU), Ben Sims (GB)

Thanks for checking this out, and good luck!
