ANALYSIS: Houston Astros, outfield prospect Joey Loperfido, made his major league debut earlier in April but was recently sent back down to Triple-A Sugar Land to further his development as he was not getting consistent playing time.
Through 14 games in the majors, the number five prospect in Houston performed well, hitting .333/.381/.436 with one long ball and five RBI. However, he did hold a high 39.5% K rate, which is significantly below average among all hitters.
At Triple-A this season, Loperfido has shown elite power potential with 13 home runs in just 28 games. He also posted a strong .274 AVG with seven swiped bags. Similar to his production in the majors, he posted a similar 31.4% K rate in the minor leagues.

While Loperfido has shown elite power potential, his hefty strikeout rate needs to be improved before he is given a longer leash in the majors. The Duke product is worth holding onto in AL-only redraft leagues but should be dropped in shallow leagues for the time being.
