MLB DFS: DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (4/24/24) - Today's Top Lineups

Jose Altuve - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, MLB Injury News, Draft Sleepers

The top MLB DFS daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel, DraftKings on April 24, 2024. Mike Barner's MLB DFS sleepers picks for building optimal DFS rosters.

Wednesday brings a busy slate of games with start times throughout the day and evening. The main evening slates on DraftKings and FanDuel will both be made up of the final seven games of the day.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 4/24/2024, with the slate starting at 7:05 p.m. EDT. The lineup picks will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is also essential.

Good luck, RotoBallers!

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Joe Ryan vs. CWS ($10,400 DraftKings; $10,600 FanDuel)

The White Sox have scored the fewest runs in baseball with just 50 runs through 23 games. To put how bad that is into perspective, the team with the next fewest runs is the Athletics. They have scored 68 runs over 24 games. No other team in baseball has scored fewer than 80 runs. Ryan has a 1.06 WHIP and 30 strikeouts over 22.2 innings so far this season. He will likely be included in a lot of DFS lineups, and rightfully so.

Reynaldo Lopez vs. MIA ($9,200 DraftKings; $10,400 FanDuel)

Lopez has been excellent for the Braves, allowing one or no runs in all three of his starts. He has a 0.94 WHIP and has yet to allow a home run. Given his career 4.22 ERA and 1.29 WHIP, regression will likely be coming for him as the season rolls along. However, he is still a great option for a matchup with the Marlins, who have the second-worst OPS in baseball and are missing one of their best hitters in Jake Burger (oblique).

Clarke Schmidt vs. OAK ($8,900 DraftKings; $8,900 FanDuel)

We already touched on how bad the Athletics have been when we were highlighting the struggles of the White Sox. Not only have the Athletics had a difficult time scoring runs, but they have struck out the most times in baseball. Schmidt doesn’t pitch deep into games often, but he has logged at least five innings in three of his four starts this year. In each of his last three starts, he allowed two or fewer runs. This is another matchup to try and exploit in DFS.

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Jose Altuve – 2B, HOU vs. Jameson Taillon ($5,500 DK; $4,000 FD)

Altuve recorded two more hits in the first game of this series Tuesday. That marked his sixth multi-hit performance over his last 11 games. For the season, he is batting .357 with a .444 wOBA. His 9.9 percent barrel rate is on pace to be the highest mark of his career. Expect him to be a difficult out for Taillon, who is only making his second start of the season. Last year, he was underwhelming, with a 4.84 ERA and a 4.61 FIP.

Ezequiel Tovar – SS, COL vs. Matt Waldron ($4,700 DK; $3,400 FD)

This has the potential to be a high-scoring affair at Coors Field. The Rockies could be going with a bullpen game, while Waldron will take the mound for the Padres. Over his 60.1 career innings in the majors, he has a 4.92 FIP and a 1.33 WHIP. The Rockies’ lineup certainly has plenty of holes in it, but Tovar is still someone to target for favorable matchups. He has a .366 wOBA out of the gate this year, along with three home runs and two stolen bases.

Oswaldo Cabrera – 3B, NYY vs. Joe Boyle ($3,800 DK; $3,000 FD)

Cabrera has done an excellent job filling in for DJ LeMahieu (foot) at third base. He has already hit three home runs after hitting just five home runs over 115 games last season. He has also lowered his strikeout rate to 18.2 percent, which has helped him produce a .337 wOBA. Up next is a favorable matchup against Boyle, who has a 1.71 WHIP and has allowed at least seven runs in two of his four starts.

Also consider: Matt Olson, Ryan McMahon, Jeremy Pena

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Juan Soto – OF, NYY vs. Joe Boyle ($6,200 DK; $4,300 FD)

The Yankees have a few slumping hitters within their lineup, but Soto certainly isn’t one of them. He has shown an incredible eye at the plate, posting more walks (19) than strikeouts (16). He also has a .220 ISO and a .427 wOBA. While he comes with a hefty salary, he is one of the top options for this slate with how poorly Boyle has pitched.

Yordan Alvarez - OF, HOU vs. Jameson Taillon ($5,400 DK; $3,700 FD)

By his lofty standards, Alvarez is off to a quiet start with a .191 ISO and a .365 wOBA. Those numbers should be on the rise quickly, though, given his 16.0 percent barrel rate and 48.1 percent hard-hit rate. He also continues to be very selective at the plate, recording a 9.4 percent walk rate and a 12.3 percent strikeout rate. Taillon is certainly not an overpowering force, given his career 21.6 percent strikeout rate.

Michael Harris II - OF, ATL vs. Sixto Sanchez ($4,600 DK; $3,200 FD)

Harris has spent some time in the second spot in the Braves’ lineup with Ozzie Albies (toe) out. Since Albies went down, Harris is 11-for-30 (.367) with one home run, four stolen bases, and five runs scored. Sanchez is expected to get the start for the Marlins, but he hasn’t thrown more than 34 pitches in any of his seven relief appearances this season. This should be a bullpen game for the Marlins, so look for Harris and his teammates to have a productive evening.

Also consider: Fernando Tatis Jr., Kyle Tucker, Daulton Varsho
