NBA DFS Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings - Spurs vs Suns Thursday Night Showdown

Victor Wembanyama - NBA Injury News, Daily Fantasy Basketball, DFS Lineup Picks

Happy Thursday, RotoBallers! Welcome back to our weekly showdown, I fell for the trap that was Rui Hachimura once again and it hurt me quite a bit last week in my lineups. Other lineups not involving him cashed nicely. This time around we got the Suns once again taking on the Spurs. The nice thing about this one is these two teams just faced on Tuesday so we kind of got a little sneak peek at what's to come.

I absolutely love playing the NBA showdowns daily, it has become one of my favorite forms of DFS. There is nothing more thrilling than having a lineup consisting of players from one game and sweating it out while watching it live. There is a lot less room for error though with there being fewer options to choose from. Hopefully, with all the advanced stats I will be able to bring you the best analysis possible and get you some extra cash for the weekend ahead. So strap in the season is just beginning and we will be here all season long.

I will be providing you with daily fantasy basketball picks on FanDuel and DraftKings for the Spurs vs. Suns NBA DFS showdown slate on November 2. These NBA DFS lineup picks can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks on both DraftKings and FanDuel. If you have any questions, you can follow me on Twitter/X @DFSKoby and please feel free to ask any questions about upcoming slates as I'm happy to answer any DMs or in our Rotoballer Discord!

MVP/Captain Plays

Kevin Durant - SF/PF, $15,900 (DK), $16,500 (FD)

Key Stats

  • 2023 Avg. Season Stats: 27.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and .8 blocks and 1.0 steals per game.

I hate to sound like a broken record but there is no one I'd rather play from the Suns other than KD in the MVP spot. His usage has been through the roof with Booker and Beal out this season at about 35% of the time. So far he has averaged nearly 44 FP per game this season. He is the primary ball handler at the moment and has had 7 assists in the last two games. KD is able to do it all and should be made a priority in all lineups.

Keldon Johnson- PF/C, $10,500 (DK), $13,000 (FD)

Key Stats

  • 2023 Avg. Season Stats: 17.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists with .3 blocks and .8 steals per game

I think the obvious play is Victor Wembanyama but Keldon Johnson should really be looked into. He had a fantastic game on Tuesday against the Suns and was the highest-scoring fantasy player in the game. I don't necessarily expect the same exact score but in all but one game this season he has had 30+ fantasy points. I also like his lack of turnovers/personal fouls this season which is something that worries me with Wembanyama.  I also love that his price on DraftKings is so much cheaper than four other players. He is great value on DraftKings.

Other Captains/MVPs: Victor Wembanyama, Jusuf Nurkic

DFS Flex Plays

 Zach Collins- PF/C, $6,800 (DK), $11,000 (FD)

Zach has been sneaky good this year and is priced fairly cheap for his production on DK. Other than one game where the Spurs were blown out he has had 30+ in all three of those games. He has been a great pair to have down low alongside Victor this season. I would say I love this play a lot more on DraftKings rather than on FD just based on pricing. 11k is a weird spot for him on FD and it just makes it difficult to grab him alongside some of the MVP-type players. He is also averaging nearly three blocks/steals per game which is definitely an added bonus. Phoenix is also allowing the second most fantasy points in the league so far this season which makes sense why Wemby and Collins had such great games against Phoenix on Tuesday.

Grayson Allen- SG, $5,600 (DK), $8,500 (FD)

I don't believe you can go wrong with Grayson Allen or Eric Gordon in this position. Both guys have been playing extremely good basketball since Devin Booker went down with an injury and as long as that continues that leaves these two to run the backcourt. I like Grayson a bit more though due to his scrappiness. He's willing to play a little bully ball and grab the rebounds or by playing some stellar defense. On top of that, San Antonio is giving up the most fantasy points in the league to shooting guards.

Other Flex Options: Eric Gordon, Tre Jones

DFS Value Plays

Cedi Osman- SF, $3,000 (DK), $7,500 (FD)

Cedi Osman has been a consistent player off the bench averaging nearly 20 minutes a game and we are getting him for dirt cheap. If you are the type of player who shoves the top guys at the top and scrounges for value for your last two or three spots. Cedi is going to be your guy. He has been shooting really well to start the season shooting nearly 60% percent from the field and 50% from three. He doesn't do much else other than shoot besides getting the occasional assist or rebound but he's averaging 18 FPPG so far this season. Which is a great amount for someone so cheap. The minutes are reliable and don't look to be going anywhere.

Drew Eubanks- C, $4,800 (DK), $7,500 (FD)

I went back and forth between Drew and Yuta for a while. I ultimately decided on Drew because I know his minutes are going to be safe as Phoenix is going to need a big man out there at all times. Nurkic and Eubanks were a solid duo in Portland last year and it looks like that has transferred to Phoenix as well. He is getting close to 20 minutes a game and averaging over 6 rebounds a game and nearly 2 blocks a game. He has had 27 FP in his last two games which is an absolute steal at his price. If we can get anything close to that I will consider Drew a solid value play.

Other Value Plays: Yuta Watanabe, Josh Okogie

Have a great night and let's make some cash!
