FanDuel NFL DFS Lineup Picks for Week 5 - Daily Fantasy Football Targets Include C.J. Stroud, Alvin Kamara, Puka Nacua, Travis Kelce

Travis Kelce - Fantasy Football Tight Ends You Must Have in 2024

Dennis Clausen highlights the top FanDuel NFL DFS lineup picks for Week 5 of the 2023 season, and some value sleepers for your daily fantasy football rosters. DFS options to target, including C.J. Stroud, Alvin Kamara, Puka Nacua, Travis Kelce.

As we enter Week 5, only the Eagles and 49ers remain undefeated. With that in mind, it's no surprise that these clubs have featured some of the top DFS performers throughout the first four games, specifically Christian McCaffrey, Jalen Hurts, Brandon Aiyuk, and A.J. Brown. On the other hand, guys like Sam LaPorta, Nico Collins, Puka Nacua, and De'Von Achane, some of the other leading fantasy performers, were either taken late in season-long formats or not at all.

As proven already this season, the DFS scene remains as volatile as ever, which has undoubtedly frustrated many over the last month. Only a few could have predicted things would begin like this, considering Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase, and the rest of the Bengals haven't done much to benefit fantasy managers. At the same time, others like Najee Harris, Kyle Pitts, and DeAndre Hopkins, to name a few, have struggled.

In this article, I will be providing you with my Week 5 daily fantasy football lineup picks for FanDuel. These lineups can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks on FanDuel. Be sure to also check out our weekly DraftKings DFS lineup picks and lots of other great NFL DFS articles and NFL DFS tools to help you win big! FanDuel Quarterbacks - Week 5 DFS Lineup Picks

C.J. Stroud – @ ATL ($7,200)

Without question, Stroud is the top quarterback out of the rookie class. He has 1,212 passing yards, doubling Bryce Young, and six touchdown tosses (no interceptions). The former Buckeye has also already thrown for over 300 yards twice, recently accomplishing the feat in Week 4 in the massive win over the Steelers.

On Sunday, Stroud will have a shot for another 300-yard game versus the Falcons. Atlanta began the year unbeaten but lost their last two games to Detroit and Jacksonville. Stroud is potentially the best signal-caller the Falcons defense will have encountered after the first five weeks, so he deserves attention in any DFS format.

Joe Burrow - @ ARI ($7,000)

Burrow continues to appear because it's only a matter of time before he has a breakout performance. Unquestionably, the 2020 No. 1 overall pick hasn't been himself. While it was easy to blame the calf issue that kept him on the sidelines throughout the summer, the Bengals' 1-3 record suggests it's more complicated than that.

The signal-caller failed to throw a touchdown in three of Cincinnati's four games, and his 57.6 completion percentage is certainly uncharacteristic. But with Burrow declaring Sunday a "must-win" game for the team, he'll be fired up and ready to put up some numbers against Arizona.

Also Consider: Patrick Mahomes ($9,200), Tua Tagovailoa ($8,000), Kirk Cousins ($7,600)

FanDuel Running Backs - Week 5 DFS Lineup Picks

David Montgomery – vs. CAR ($8,500)

Montgomery missed Week 3 because of a thigh injury. There were doubts he would be available for the NFC North rival game against the Packers. But the former Bear was active for that one, although many were concerned about his limitations. Yet, that obviously wasn't an issue, as Montgomery ran the ball 32 times to total 121 yards.

He also caught both of his targets and even better, he scored three times. Montgomery has played at a Pro Bowl level this season and could continue to thrive versus Carolina, a team that's allowed six rushing touchdowns to opposing backs, the second-worst mark in the league.

Raheem Mostert/De'Von Achane – vs. NYG ($8,000/$7,500)

The Giants are a different version of what we saw last season. The team has struggled for plenty of reasons, from Saquon Barkley's absences to Daniel Jones' six interceptions. Still, we can also look at things on the defensive end, with New York allowing nearly 31 points per game. Miami's calling card this season has been the explosive play of those on offense.

Undoubtedly, multiple guys deserve recognition. However, Mostert and Achane have converged to produce arguably the most potent one-two punch in the NFL. Both men combined for 10 touchdowns in the last two weeks and could continue to feast versus the 1-3 Giants.

Alvin Kamara - @ NE ($7,100)

Kamara missed the first three games of the year because of his suspension, so most had assumed he would get gradually eased back into the swing of things. Yet, we would eventually learn that wasn't the case, with the 28-year-old on the field for 75% of the offensive snaps for New Orleans.

He played well, too, and showed no signs of residual rust. While he only logged 11 carries, he caught 13 of his 14 targets. Kamara probably won't see that kind of attention on the receiving end in Week 5 versus New England, but the upside is certainly there.

Also Consider: Bijan Robinson ($8,200), Joe Mixon ($7,200), Rhamondre Stevenson ($6,100), Miles Sanders ($6,100)

FanDuel Wide Receivers - Week 5 DFS Lineup Picks

Ja’Marr Chase - @ ARI ($8,700)

Chase and the Bengals have been hideous all season. Joe Burrow has certainly struggled. But Chase has also underwhelmed, to a degree. Weeks 1 and 2 weren't his best. Conversely, the former LSU Tiger caught 19 balls (24 targets) for 214 yards in the previous two games. Now, Chase just needs to get into the end zone, although he has a good chance of finding it versus the Cardinals, especially if Tee Higgins can't play.

Puka Nacua – vs. PHI ($8,000)

Cooper Kupp is nearing a return after sitting on the injured reserve list with a bum hamstring. But even if Kupp is in uniform in Week 5, there's no reason to believe Nacua won't remain an integral part of the Rams' offense. The 2023 fifth-round pick has had a record-breaking season thus far, amassing 52 catches in the first four weeks. Nacua isn't likely to go away anytime soon, as he should continue to be a productive member of any fantasy roster moving ahead. Keep him going on Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Michael Pittman Jr. - vs. TEN ($6,600)

Pittman hasn't been consistently productive this season. He began the year by accumulating nearly 20 fantasy points. However, he hasn't done much since. Then again, the wideout has been getting targets inside the red zone and he's also played at least 95% of the offensive snaps in each game this season. Pittman has a reasonable rostering cost entering the Week 5 matchup in Tennessee, so he's a high-upside option for those looking to save some cap space.

Also Consider: Tyreek Hill ($9,400), Justin Jefferson ($9,200), A.J. Brown ($8,200), Marquise Brown ($6,400), Tyler Boyd ($6,200), Robert Woods ($5,000)

FanDuel Tight Ends - Week 5 DFS Lineup Picks

Travis Kelce - @ MIN

Kelce missed the first game of the year after suffering a knee injury. Since then, he scored a touchdown in Weeks 2 and 3 while catching six passes for 60 yards in Sunday's narrow win over the Jets. Most are consumed with Kelce's personal life. But DFS managers only care about what he will do in Week 5. Considering he's drawn 26 targets in his three appearances, it clearly indicates he'll keep getting looks from Patrick Mahomes.

Sam LaPorta – vs. CAR ($6,000)

LaPorta is another guy who's received attention from his quarterback. He's drawn 27 targets and currently leads others at the position with 242 receiving yards on the season. The rookie had his best performance of his inaugural year in Week 3 by pulling in eight of his 11 targets for 84 yards and a touchdown.

He cooled off versus the Packers, although David Montgomery can take credit after making three trips to the end zone. That said, LaPorta's rostering cost has increased, so DFS participants may only have a few weeks left to receive a bargain before it grows even more. But for now, he has an advantageous matchup against a Panthers defense that's struggled.

Also Consider: T.J. Hockenson ($6,800), Tyler Higbee ($5,300)
