DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (4/7/23): Today's Top MLB DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings on April 7, 2023. Brenton Kemp's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

Welcome to your five-game main MLB slate! It's early in the campaign, which means plenty of afternoon action as we'll focus on the main, later portion of tonight's slate.

Remember, this five-game main slate at both DraftKings and Fanduel locks at 7:20 PM ET. The lineup picks will range from some elite, high-priced players to mid-priced options and value plays. I'll give you a few of my top pitching options and some infielders, outfielders, and teams to stack!

You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. It's also essential to monitor injury news and today's MLB starting lineups. Let's get after it and come out on top tonight!

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Brandon Woodruff - SP, Brewers ($10,000 DK, $10,500 FD)

It's a short slate, but there's a decent chance Brandon Woodruff comes out on top when it comes to starting pitchers.

In short, he's been one of the best starting pitchers in baseball for the last few seasons. The right-hander turned in a 3.05 ERA last season but also hurled a 2.56 mark in the 2021 campaign. Woodruff owns a 3.17 ERA across 120 big-league appearances.

He'll be a solid foundation in your lineup as the Cardinals' .363 BABIP has nowhere to go but down moving forward.

Patrick Sandoval - SP, Angels ($8,500 DK, $8,600 FD)

All you can say about Patrick Sandoval is that he's been absolutely rock-solid.

I mean, after busting out with a 2.91 ERA across 27 starts last season, it's probably time to realize the left-hander is for real. He turned in five innings of one-run ball while allowing just two hits in his season debut when he took on the A's in Oakland on April 1.

The left-hander turned in five innings of one-run ball alongside two strikeouts against two walks in his season debut against the A's last week. The Blue Jays represent a different cat in his second start of the season, but Sandoval has proven he has enough in his arsenal to get the job done.

Despite a tough matchup, Sandoval is a solid investment as he toes the rubber for the first time this season on home soil.

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Matt Olson - 1B, ATL vs. Nick Martinez ($5,200 DK, $4,100 FD)

Matt Olson rakes right-handers; this is an excellent opportunity to get your lineup started on the right note. After all, he's had great success in his career against right-hander Nick Martinez.

It's been an unreal start to the season for Olson, a player I personally believe can make it into the MVP conversation. All he's done so far is go 10-for-30 (.333) with three homers and four doubles, along with three walks across 33 trips to the plate. He's already driven in nine runs on the campaign and should have plenty of run-scoring opportunities hitting in the two-hole as part of a deadly Braves lineup.

Olson should be able to take care of the right-handed Martinez Friday evening.

Jeimer Candelario - 3B DK, 1B/3B FD vs. Jose Urena ($2,900 DK, $3,100 FD)

At this price, it's hard to dislike the value Jeimer Candelario brings to the table as he takes on the Rockies and right-hander Jose Urena.

Candelario and Urena were teammates not long ago, but the latter has not been good lately. The 31-year-old posted a 5.01 ERA last season on the heels of a 5.81 mark with the Tigers in the 2021 campaign. He was torched for four earned runs across just 2 1/3 innings in his first start of the season against the Padres while he walked four without striking out a batter.

As for Candelario, he's coming off a tough season himself. His 80 wRC+ from last season was miles below the 120 mark he put forth in the 2021 campaign when he led the league in doubles. He has a homer to his credit across seven games to this point but has a chance to add another in the league's hitter-friendliest ballpark this evening,

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Eddie Rosario - OF vs. Nick Martinez ($2,400 DK, $2,200 FD)

Here is a solid value play: Eddie Rosario should return to the lineup tonight when the Braves take on Nick Martinez.

Easily put, the price is right. Rosario has hit right-handed pitching dar better than he has righties for his career as he owns a strong .217 isolated power for his career versus a .123 mark off lefties. The lefty-swinging outfielder struggled last season but is off to a solid start this time, as he's gone 4-for-14 (.286) with a double in five games to this point and has scored a pair of runs in the process.

Rosario has one homer in 10 career plate appearances off Martinez, so let's see if he can make it two in this one tonight.

Randy Arozarena (FD) - OF vs. Ken Waldichuk ($3,900)

This is a FanDuel-only pick as Randy Arozarena will not take part in the DraftKings slate but is a must in FanDuel lineups as he takes on A's left-hander Ken Waldichuk.

Waldichuk owns a 5.58 ERa through his first eight starts of his big-league tenure, while Arozarena has raked left-handed pitching since entering the big leagues. The righty-swinging Arozarena owns a .311 average with a sizeable .260 isolated power and .953 OPS against southpaw pitching. For context, he owns a .755 OPS in his career against same-handed pitching.

There's a very real chance Arozarena goes off in this matchup tonight.

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

Atlanta Braves vs. Nick Martinez (SD)

Martinez has turned a corner after a stint overseas, but this loaded Braves offense should be able to get to the right-hander in this one.

On top of Olson, Ronald Acuna Jr., Austin Riley, and the red-hot Travis d'Arnaud all make perfect sense in this matchup. I'm not such a fan of Ozzie Albies, who has hit lefties far better than he has righties in his career.

The projected first four hitters in today's Braves lineup should work just fine.

Washington Nationals vs. Jose Urena (COL)

Coors Field is always a fun way to play some DFS picks, and with Jose Urena on the mound, this one could get interesting. Jeimer Candelario is a fantastic, cost-efficient piece in your lineup. Still, the Nats' offense is full of value as leadoff man Luis Garcia, first baseman Dominic Smith, and catcher Keibert Ruiz all come in at affordable prices. Remember, Urena has yielded a .356 wOBA to left-handed hitters versus a .306 mark to righties for his career.

Good luck tonight, everyone, and let's get after it this season!
