DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks (1/3/23): Today's Top NBA DFS Lineups

Giannis Antetokounmpo - NBA DFS Picks, Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineups

The top daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on January 3rd, 2023. Max Kulish provides NBA DFS analysis and sleeper picks for building optimal DFS rosters.

Happy Tuesday, and happy New Year, RotoBallers! I hope you had a great NYE. Tonight we're back to a smaller slate, headlined by the TNT doubleheader. These articles focus on the overall best plays, which are typically more suited for cash games. However, some exceptions may apply, depending on the size of the slate.

This article will provide you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 1/3/23. Remember to monitor NBA injury news and our awesome new NBA injuries report tool as the slate can completely change before lineups lock.

As always, feel free to follow my Twitter (@Maxadelphia) to keep up-to-date with NBA news and for my nightly NBA bets if you're into that sort of thing. Let's go!

DraftKings and FanDuel Guards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander - PG, OKC vs BOS ($10,300 DK, $10,400 FD)

Shai is the most expensive guard by a decent margin tonight, and due to his matchup, I expect him to be the least popular $10k+ option. However, the Thunder are on 3 days of rest, and SGA had one of his best games of the year against the Celtics in November; posting 37/4/8 and 2 steals.

Kevin Huerter  - SG/SF, SAC @ UTA ($5,500 DK, $5,500 FD)

Monk was dealing with wrist pain before ultimately playing Sunday at Memphis, and now he's being listed as questionable with a shoulder injury. Monk hasn't missed a game yet this year, but dealing with two minor injuries at once will surely at least limit him if he plays. Huerter has scored 31.5+ DK points in 3 of his last 4 games. If Monk doesn't play, Huerter's floor and ceiling combo becomes much higher.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker - PG/SG, UTA vs SAC ($3,400 DK, $3,900 FD)

With Colin Sexton ruled out, there is a clear vacancy for guard play off the bench for the Jazz. Even as recently as a couple of weeks ago, NAW was putting up 30+ DK points for cheap while the Jazz were dealing with injuries to Mike Conley and Jordan Clarkson. I expect him to be one of the more popular plays on the slate, but at his price tag, he seems like a great value play.

Others to consider: De'Aaron Fox ($9,000 DK, $8,800 FD), Derrick White ($4,700 DK, $5,300 FD)

DraftKings and FanDuel Forwards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Giannis Antetokounmpo - PF/C, MIL vs WAS ($12,100 DK, $12,300 FD)

Giannis earned himself a rest day in the Bucks' game against the Wizards over the weekend after posting consecutive 40-point/20-rebound games, two performances that both went for over 80 DK points. While Khris Middleton remains out, Giannis will carry an even larger offensive load than usual. This game does carry blowout risk, but if you think the Wizards can keep it close, Giannis should post another big statline.

Jalen Williams - SF/PF, OKC vs BOS  ($4,900 DK, $5,600 FD)

Williams has been performing well of late; scoring in double-digits in 9 of his last 10 games. He's been playing 27+ minutes per game for over a month now and is starting to acclimate himself to the pro game. With Aleksej Pokusevski hurt, the Thunder might go smaller more often since they don't have the best options at center. If they do, Williams could see an increase in his rebounding numbers.

Al Horford - PF/C, BOS @ OKC ($4,800 DK, $5,600 FD)

It looks likely that Robert Williams will be held out of this game for injury management purposes, which would shift Horford into the Celtics' center spot for a revenge game in Oklahoma City. Horford has been inefficient of late, but he plays 30+ minutes most nights and will almost certainly do so again tonight. This is the cheapest he's been in quite some time, so this feels like a great chance to buy low on Horford.

Others to consider: Jayson Tatum($10,700 DK, $11,000 FD), Grant Williams ($3,500 DK, $4,700 FD)

DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Domantas Sabonis - C, SAC @ UTA ($10,500 DK, $10,300 FD)

Sabonis has been a model of consistency of late; over his last 8 games, he's averaging 57.6 DK points per game. Tonight, he gets the soft interior defense of the Jazz (29th vs Centers), which provides a potential eruption spot for the league's leading rebounder (12.4 per game).

Daniel Gafford - C, WAS @ MIL  ($4,300 DK, $5,200 FD)

Keeping it short and sweet to round this edition of top plays out; Gafford is a starter priced like a backup. Gafford has scored 28+ DK points in 3 straight games, while also playing 25+ minutes in all of those games. He's started 6 games in a row but has really found his groove over the last couple. I expect his price to be at least $5,000 by the end of the week, so get in now!

Others to consider: Jarred Vanderbilt ($5,000 DK, $5,600 FD)
