Fantasy Football Injury Reports for Week 3: George Kittle, James Conner, Jerry Jeudy, Michael Pittman, Michael Gallup, Gabe Davis

Fantasy football injury updates and injury reports for RB, WR, TE, QB for Week 3 (2022), as of 9/20, including George Kittle, James Conner, Jerry Jeudy, and Michael Pittman.

Week 2 is officially in the books, and it's time to look towards Week 3 of the fantasy football season. Below you will find our fantasy football injuries report for several key NFL players as as of September 20th.

The injury statuses for various fantasy football stars are up in the air for Week 3 including George Kittle, James Conner, Jerry Jeudy, Michael Pittman Jr., Michael Gallup, Gabe Davis. There are some big names already popping up on the injury report as we head into Week 3 of the regular season, so knowing exactly where each player stands going into the weekend is crucial. Being up-to-date on NFL injury news can give you an edge over your league mates in fantasy football.

To keep close tabs on all of the news across the NFL, make sure to favorite or bookmark the fantasy football player news page, or download the free RotoBaller fantasy football mobile app with push notification alerts on all the latest news. Let's look at the updates for some wide receivers and see whether they may play in Week 2.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

George Kittle Injury Update

San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle (groin) missed his second consecutive game to open the season on Sunday against the Seahawks. While this is not how anyone hoped he would begin the year, it sounds like he may be nearing a return. Head coach Kyle Shanahan described him as "close to playing" on Sunday, emphasizing that the decision to rest him will get him healthier for Week 3 against the Broncos.

The 49ers had to switch to quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo on Sunday because of the season-ending injury that Trey Lance (ankle) suffered. The change of signal-callers should generate more passing attempts, which could mean more fantasy points available for Kittle and Co. if he can suit up this Sunday against the Broncos. We'll monitor practice reports again this week, but the 28-year-old will be a must-start for fantasy football if he's active.

James Conner Injury Update

Arizona Cardinals running back James Conner's ankle injury that he suffered in the Week 2 overtime win over the Las Vegas Raiders is not considered to be long-term or serious, according to a source. Conner stayed in uniform after he was injured and stood on the sidelines, which is a positive sign. Before getting hurt, the 27-year-old lead back had seven carries for only 25 yards, adding two catches on four targets for another 26 yards.

With Conner hurt, Darrel Williams and Eno Benjamin had eight carries apiece, with Williams going for 59 yards and a touchdown on the ground. The two combined for five catches and 23 yards through the air. If Conner is unable to play in Week 3 against the Los Angeles Rams, Williams and Benjamin would likely share the backfield, with Williams working more on early downs and Benjamin on pass-catching downs.

Jerry Jeudy Injury Update

Denver Broncos wide receiver Jerry Jeudy (chest) is considered "day-to-day" after leaving the game against the Houston Texans in the first quarter. Jeudy is dealing with a chest/sternum issue, but it's clearly not a serious ailment that will keep him out of action for a long period of time. If Jeudy is full-go, he's a strong WR2/3 play against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday Night Football in Week 3.

If he's out, Courtland Sutton should see another healthy number of targets, with K.J. Hamler (knee, hip) drawing some flex appeal in deeper leagues if he's active. The Broncos tight end group would also see a jump in targets. For now, it sounds like Jeudy will be just fine.

Michael Pittman Jr. Injury Update

Indianapolis Colts head coach Frank Reich said that wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (quadriceps) has "made some good progress" with his injured quad and could return in Week 3 against the Kansas City Chiefs. "Hoping it's just a one game thing," Reich said. Without Pittman available in Week 2, Indy's offense was unable to get anything going and put up a donut on the scoreboard in a 24-0 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Parris Campbell didn't catch either of his two targets, and Ashton Dulin led the team with a 5-79-0 line. Fantasy managers will have a better idea of whether Pittman will be able to play this week once the team's practice reports come out on Wednesday. If the 24-year-old ends up missing just one game, he'll be a must-start in Week 3 against KC.

Michael Gallup Injury Update

Dallas Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said on 105.3 The Fan on Monday that wide receiver Michael Gallup (knee) could make his season debut in Week 3 on Monday Night Football against the New York Giants. Jones said it is "certainly possible for him to be up against the Giants this week." Gallup is recovering from a torn ACL in January, but he made big strides at practice last week and is getting closer to his 2022 season debut. However, there's a good chance the 26-year-old will be a game-time decision on Monday night, and even if he does play, he'll be a tough sell in fantasy with potential limited snaps and with quarterback Cooper Rush throwing him the football. Gallup should eventually have a big role in the passing game and will be more attractive once Dak Prescott (thumb) returns, making him a stash candidate if you have the roster space.

Dalton Schultz Injury Update

Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy said the team feels "good about the scan" on tight end Dalton Schultz (knee) on Monday. However, the team doesn't know whether Schultz will be available for the Week 3 game on Monday night against the New York Giants until leading up closer to the game.

The 26-year-old avoided an ACL injury and isn't expected to be out for a significant amount of time, but there's a strong possibility he won't play in Week 3 after injuring his right knee late in the Week 2 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. With Schultz trending as a game-time decision this week, fantasy managers should look to go in another direction for now. If Schultz cannot suit up next Monday night, rookie Jake Ferguson will have a much bigger role on offense.

J.K. Dobbins Injury Update

Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh reiterated Monday that running back J.K. Dobbins (knee) is "week-to-week," and he wouldn't say whether Dobbins would make his 2022 season debut in Week 3 against the New England Patriots. Dobbins was able to practice in full all of last week, but the Ravens still held him out in the Week 2 loss to the Miami Dolphins.

Baltimore is being extremely cautious with the 23-year-old former second-rounder after he missed all of 2021 with a torn left ACL. Once Dobbins does return, there's also a good chance that he's not given a full backfield workload initially, which will make him a shaky flex play in fantasy lineups. Kenyan Drake has operated as the team's lead back through two weeks, but it hasn't produced much -- 17 carries for 39 yards and one catch for 15 yards.

Gabe Davis Injury Update

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Gabe Davis (ankle) is officially inactive on Monday night against the Tennessee Titans in Week 2, according to a source. Davis was fighting an uphill battle to be active on Monday after injuring his ankle in practice on Saturday. Fantasy managers should have already moved Davis to their benches and replaced him with someone who hopefully had a good day on Sunday.

Consider Davis questionable for the team's Week 3 tilt against the 2-0 Miami Dolphins next weekend. With the 23-year-old out of action on Monday night, Stefon Diggs, Isaiah McKenzie and tight end Dawson Knox should see more targets, as well as veteran pass-catcher Jamison Crowder.

Zach Wilson Injury Update

New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson (knee) will see a slight ramp-up this week in practice, according to head coach Robert Saleh. Wilson will not play in Week 3 against the Cincinnati Bengals, and Saleh won't say definitively that Wilson will be ready to start in Week 4. However, the head coach said Wilson is "progressing well... looking good... so we'll see."

The 23-year-old second-year QB had arthroscopic right knee surgery on Aug. 16, which has delayed his start to the 2022 season. Veteran Joe Flacco has gone over 300 yards passing in each of the first two games and led the Jets to an improbable comeback win over the Browns in Week 2, but he'll revert to backup duties once Wilson is 100% healthy. Wilson should only be stashed in two-QB leagues.

Hunter Renfrow Injury Update

Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Hunter Renfrow (concussion) struggled in Week 2, fumbling twice in the team's overtime loss to the Arizona Cardinals. The second fumble was recovered and returned by Arizona for a game-winning touchdown and Renfrow may have also been injured on the same play as he is now in concussion protocol. Renfrow did see a team-high of 10 targets in the game and turned them into seven receptions for 59 yards.

This number is encouraging after he was completely overshadowed by new arrival Davante Adams in Week 1. Fantasy managers should keep an eye out for reports on Renfrow's progression ahead of the Raiders' Week 3 bout with the Tennessee Titans. If active, Renfrow should be viewed as a low-end WR3 or flex play.

Trey Lance Injury Update

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Trey Lance (ankle) is done for the year, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan. The signal-caller broke his ankle during the Week 2 matchup against the Seahawks and needed to be carted off the field. It's a tough blow for the 22-year-old, who received plenty of hype heading into the 2022-23 campaign.

Instead, he will undergo surgery on Monday, so the Niners will turn to veteran Jimmy Garoppolo to handle things under center for the remainder of the year. Garoppolo has always been a hit-or-miss performer, so fantasy managers shouldn't expect consistent production out of him. However, since Lance wasn't playing all that well, Garoppolo may be an upgrade.

Tyrion Davis-Price Injury Update

San Francisco 49ers rookie running back Tyrion Davis-Price (ankle) will be out a few weeks after suffering a high ankle sprain in the Week 2 win over the Seattle Seahawks. In the first game without Elijah Mitchell (knee), Davis-Price played 39 percent of the offensive snaps behind starter Jeff Wilson Jr. and carried the ball 14 times for 33 yards in his NFL debut.

It makes his injury all the more frustrating for fantasy managers that had picked him up off the waiver wire after Mitchell's injury in the season opener. Fellow rookie Jordan Mason didn't see any touches on Sunday, but he should move up to the No. 2 back for a Week 3 matchup against the Denver Broncos on Sunday night. Wilson should continue to be the Niners' undisputed lead back until Mitchell returns.
