Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 7:
Adonai Mitchell, New York Jets
New York Jets wide receiver Adonai Mitchell (finger) will play Sunday against the Miami Dolphins after missing four consecutive games, according to head coach Aaron Glenn, as reported by Rich Cimini of ESPN. Mitchell is expected to practice in full Friday after being limited Wednesday and Thursday, completing his recovery from a finger injury that required a procedure on his hand.
He caught nine passes for 123 yards on 15 targets across New York's first two games before getting hurt. Rookie Omar Cooper Jr. returned from his own injury last week and caught six passes for 103 yards and a touchdown against New England.
With Garrett Wilson also commanding targets, Mitchell faces a more crowded receiving group than he did earlier this season and is best viewed as a deep-league bench option for his first game back.
Dylan Sampson, Cleveland Browns
Cleveland Browns running back Dylan Sampson (knee) is questionable for Sunday's Week 7 matchup against the Tennessee Titans, according to Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN. Head coach Todd Monken is optimistic about Sampson's availability after the second-year back missed five consecutive games with a knee injury suffered in the season opener.
Sampson returned to practice last week and was limited Wednesday and Thursday, but has not yet been activated from injured reserve.
If cleared, he could contribute as a pass-catching complement to Quinshon Judkins (ankle), who is set to return after missing Week 6. Sampson caught 33 passes for 271 yards and two touchdowns as a rookie in 2025, although his uncertain initial workload makes him a deep-league PPR stash rather than a Week 7 starting option.
Kenny Gainwell, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Kenny Gainwell hasn't been a viable fantasy option through the first six games of the regular season. That's unlikely to change against the Carolina Panthers in Week 7.
This past weekend, Gainwell rushed the ball twice for 17 yards while hauling in his lone target for seven yards. Gainwell has seen four or fewer rushing attempts in five straight games. There hasn't been much of a role for Gainwell in this offense, and that probably won't change with Bucky Irving doing well in the lead back role. Gainwell is worth holding in certain formats, but he's not a recommended starting option ahead of this Week 7 matchup.
Tank Dell, Houston Texans
Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell (knee) is officially listed as questionable to come off Injured Reserve to make his season debut in Week 7 on Sunday against the New York Giants, according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Sports.
The Texans made it sound like Dell would return this weekend against the Giants when asked about it earlier this week, but he remains up in the air to play for the first time since December of the 2024 season, when he suffered a left-knee injury that involved several ligament tears. The injury kept the speedy former third-rounder out for the entire 2025 season.
Now that Dell is on the verge of a return to the Texans' roster, he is worth stashing in deeper leagues with hopes that he can rediscover the big-play ability that he showed in his first two years in the league. The 26-year-old had 98 catches for 1,376 yards and 10 touchdowns in his first two seasons.
However, it could be an uphill battle for Dell to find consistent playing time alongside Nico Collins, Jaylin Noel, and newcomer and former first-rounder Marvin Harrison Jr. for the rest of the way in 2026. If Dell is active on Sunday, he should be left on the bench where he is rostered.
Jahan Dotson, Atlanta Falcons
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Jahan Dotson is clearly establishing himself as the team's No. 2 pass-catcher behind Drake London. The 26-year-old caught three of a season-high five targets for a team-high 87 yards and his second touchdown of the season in Sunday's 31-23 loss at home to the Chicago Bears in Week 6.
It was Dotson's second time finding the end zone in the last three weeks, and he has now gone over 50 receiving yards in each of the last three weeks after catching only four passes on 11 targets for 41 yards without a touchdown in the first three contests of the 2026 campaign. The Falcons do not have a very appealing Week 7 matchup against the 6-0 San Francisco 49ers, but Dotson is on the rise as he becomes a more reliable pass-catching option for quarterback Michael Penix Jr. in Atlanta.
Dotson has 11 catches on 23 targets for 236 yards and two touchdowns through the first six weeks and is not a bad waiver-wire pickup in deeper fantasy leagues for those looking for better WR depth. He is currently rostered in only 1% of Yahoo leagues.
