Week 7 Waiver Wire Pickups - Harold Fannin, Evan Engram, Theo Johnson Fantasy Football Outlooks

Harold Fannin Jr. - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Week 7 fantasy football waiver wire pickups for Harold Fannin Jr., Evan Engram, Theo Johnson in 2025. Read their waiver wire outlooks for fantasy football.

The tight end position is often a wasteland for fantasy purposes, but we've seen some big hits in the later rounds this season. Especially with Jake Ferguson, who is currently lapping the position in points scored.

A few young tight ends are emerging onto the scene that could make an impact over the second half of the season. In addition, the veteran tight ends with strong track records could find their footing and find their stride in the coming weeks.

So, should you pick up Harold Fannin Jr., Evan Engram, or Theo Johnson in your fantasy football leagues for Week 7 of 2025? Let's dive in.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Harold Fannin Jr. Week 7 Waiver Wire Pickups

Rostered: 66% of Leagues

Baller Move: Add in all leagues

Fannin already looks like a potential star after six weeks. He's coming off his best game as a pro, racking up seven catches on ten targets for 81 yards. Notably, some of this production came after David Njoku (knee) left with an injury, but Fannin was already stepping on his routes a bit. Fannin also scored the first touchdown of his career the week before against the Vikings in London.

The rookie third-rounder has played 85%, 79%, and 80% of snaps in the past three games, his three highest of the season. Per Fantasy Points Data Suite, among all tight ends with at least 75 routes this season, Fannin ranks:

  • 7th in Targets Per Route Run
  • 6th in Air Yards
  • 2nd in Yards After Contact Per Reception
  • 1st in Missed Tackles Forced Per Reception

Fannin should already be universally owned at this point, especially with Njoku banged up. He posted one of the best tight end seasons in the history of college football last season at Bowling Green. Now, he's already earned a big role early in his rookie year and is crushing in multiple areas. Fannin has clear top-eight upside at tight end for the rest of the season, even in a poor Cleveland offense.

Evan Engram Week 7 Waiver Wire Pickups

Rostered: 47% of Leagues

Baller Move: Add in 12+ Team PPR Leagues

Engram missed one game with an injury this season, but has also been disappointing when he has suited up. He had his two most productive games as a Bronco in Weeks 5 and 6, catching 4 of 6 targets for 33 yards and a touchdown against the Eagles in Week 5, then hauling in 5 of 6 targets for 42 yards and adding a 7-yard carry in Week 6 against the Jets. Still, he ran routes on just 45.5% of the team’s passing plays last week.

His route rates for every game this season are 27.9%, 43.8%, 59.1%, 53.5%, and 45.5%. It's tough to be a highly impactful player in fantasy when you aren't really a full-time player. He's been in the top three of Denver pass catchers in routes just twice in five weeks. Sean Payton loves to rotate his wide receivers, which Engram effectively is, and it's tough for volume to consolidate. Courtland Sutton has remained the top dog in the offense, while second-year WR Troy Franklin has owned the No. 2 role behind him.

Sutton and Franklin have been the only two pass catchers with consistent routes week to week. And while many expected the Denver offense to take a jump and be capable of supporting multiple players for fantasy, it hasn't turned out that way, with Sutton and lead back J.K. Dobbins being the only viable starting options at the moment. That could change as QB Bo Nix has advocated for more targets to Engram, which makes him worthy of an add in 12+ team leagues, but I wouldn't go crazy.

Theo Johnson Week 7 Waiver Wire Pickups

Rostered: 14% of Leagues

Baller Move: Add In 12+team PPR leagues

Johnson has been a red zone target machine this season. His nine red zone targets rank second among tight ends, trailing only Trey McBride. Since Jaxson Dart took over as the starter in Week 4, Johnson’s three touchdowns are tied for the second-most at the position.

Since Dart took over, Johnson has caught 11 of 16 targets for 77 yards and three touchdowns. He's averaging 16 PPR points per game in those three games, sixth most among tight ends in that span. It's mostly driven by touchdowns, but that is pretty much the nature of the tight end position in fantasy.

Johnson is an elite athlete at 6'6", 264 pounds, and the QB change from Russell Wilson to Jaxson Dart could be big for him down the stretch. Dart still scrambles and takes sacks at a higher rate, which will drag down the raw pass volume. But they've shown a clear rapport in their short time together, and Dart favors him near the end zone. In addition, since Week 4, Johnson has the highest First Read% (21.7%) among Giant pass catchers who played in all three games. With how promising Dart looked in their upset win over Philadelphia, Johnson is trending upwards and is a good add in 12-team leagues.
