Dolphins quarterback (QB) Ryan Fitzpatrick is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup to target as a free agent addition for Week 4 of the 2020 NFL season.
BALLER MOVE: Add in 2QB Leagues
ROSTERED: 7% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: After a horrific start to the season with a paltry 7.4 PPR performance in Week 1 against New England (those three interceptions...), Ryan Fitzpatrick has finally leveled up in two consecutive games. He put on a volume-show against the Bills in W2 (31-of-47, 328 yards, 2 TDs) to reach 24.3 PPR points while he had another great outing last Thursday in his W3 matchup against Jacksonville with a completely opposite gameplan.
Now that Jameis Winston is not a starter anymore, Ryan Fitzpatrick is your ultimate booming quarterback out there. Fitz showed that side of him in week two, but he was Dr. Jekyll to his Mr. Hyde this past week. Fitzpatrick finished the game with 2 TDs once more, but his approach to the game was very different: 20 passing attempts, 18 completions, and just 160 yards passing. He added 38 rushing yards on 7 carries, including another touchdown. All things considered, Fitz finished with 25.2 PPR points and 24+ for the second week in a row.
It is hard to envision this uber-efficient version of Ryan Fitzpatrick appearing on fantasy leaderboards weekly, but as you see Fitz can do it in both ways, and it's actually expected to hand out fantasy goodies more via volume than efficiency. Sure, he will throw some interceptions here and there, but he often overcomes those blips with huge passing yardage and touchdown numbers. The Seahawks come next and Miami will need to pass the ball a bunch in W4, while Seattle has allowed a ton of passing yards already this season. If you're streaming QBs in shallower leagues or you play 2QB-formats, make Fitzpatrick one of your go-to WW targets for next weekend.
