Los Angeles Angels right-handed pitching prospect
George Klassen tossed six shutout frames en route to picking up the victory over Double-A Pensacola on Friday. In this outing, Klassen allowed just two hits and one walk. He struck out five. This was a nice bounce-back outing for Klassen as he allowed 14 runs (13 earned) over his last three starts (8 2/3 innings). However, prior to this slump, the No. 3-ranked prospect in the system posted a 3.86 ERA and a 1.21 WHIP over his first 25 2/3 innings of work. Through 40 1/3 total frames, Klassen has struck out 49 batters and held a modest 5.36 ERA. However, his slump in early June has inflated his ratios. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his progression as the former sixth-round pick could earn a second-half taste of Triple-A.

Seattle Mariners outfield prospect
Lazaro Montes went 2-for-4 with a double and a home run during their contest against High-A Tri-City on Friday evening. This performance snapped a seven-game power skid for the No. 2-ranked prospect in Seattle. During this minor skid, Montes posted a low .160/.300/.280 line with an 11:4 K:BB. However, over his last 14 games before the slump, the 20-year-old carried a .333/.410/.722 slash line with three doubles, six home runs, and a 15:7 K:BB. Montes has continued to show improvement at the High-A level and is nearing a promotion to Double-A. During his first taste of High-A last summer, Montes posted a solid .805 OPS. However, he has been able to raise that to a stellar .936 OPS through 60 games this season. Montes remains on track to contend for his MLB debut next summer.

Arizona Diamondbacks infield prospect
Jordan Lawlar went 3-for-5 with a double and a triple during their contest against Triple-A Sugar Land. In this game, Lawlar scored two runs and added three RBI. This outing also extended his hitting streak to four games. Since returning to Triple-A on May 31 after a brief taste of the majors, the top-ranked prospect in the desert has been productive, holding a .298/.389/.574 slash line with three doubles, two triples, two home runs, 10 RBI, and seven runs. However, at the majors, Lawlar appeared in just eight games and went 0-for-19 at the plate with three walks and a run. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his progression at Triple-A as he will likely be in the mix to return to the majors this season. However, given his struggles in the majors, he is only worth stashing in deeper formats for the time being.

Milwaukee Brewers right-handed pitching prospect
Logan Henderson struck out five batters en route to picking up the victory over Triple-A Norfolk on Friday. In this start, Henderson tossed 5 1/3 innings with nine hits and two runs (only one earned). He served up one free pass. Since returning to Triple-A in early June, Henderson has posted a 0.68 ERA with a 1.20 WHIP. During these 13 1/3 frames, the No. 12-ranked prospect in the system has struck out 15 batters and allowed just three walks. The 23-year-old earned a taste of the majors this season and held his own as he posted a 1.71 ERA with a 0.95 WHIP through his first 21 innings. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status as he could earn another call to the majors, especially if the Brewers need pitching depth. For now, he is a viable stash option in deeper 14+ team formats.

Chicago Cubs right-handed pitching prospect
Cade Horton enjoyed a strong bounce-back outing on Friday afternoon during his contest against the Pittsburgh Pirates. In his outing, the top pitching prospect in Chicago logged 5 2/3 shutout innings with just three hits and a walk. He struck out four. In his last start, Horton struggled against the Detroit Tigers as he allowed a season-high four runs. However, prior to that outing, Horton held an impressive 2.16 ERA and a 1.20 WHIP over his last three starts (16 2/3 innings). Throughout his first 36 1/3 MLB innings, the former seventh overall pick has held a 3.47 ERA with a 1.21 WHIP. Given his consistent play, fantasy managers should expect the right-hander to remain in the rotation even when
Shota Imanaga (hamstring) returns from the injured list.

Chicago White Sox left-handed pitching prospect
Noah Schultz is being promoted to Triple-A. Schultz is considered the top prospect in the Chicago system and the No. 13-ranked in the sport on MLB.com. Schultz has spent his entire campaign with Double-A Birmingham. Through 56 2/3 innings of work, Schultz has struck out 58 batters while posting a 3.34 ERA with a 1.59 WHIP. His command has been an issue as he has allowed 36 free passes. Last season, the left-hander spent time with High-A before earning the call to Double-A. During his first taste of Double-A, Schultz was very effective, posting a 1.48 ERA with a stellar 1.02 WHIP. During this stretch, the former 26th overall pick tallied 73 punchouts in 61 innings. He is now one stop away from the majors and could earn a late-season taste if he finds his footing at Triple-A.

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher
Yoshinobu Yamamoto struggled on Friday, allowing five runs over 4 ⅔ IP and taking his fifth loss in a 6-2 defeat at the hands of the San Francisco Giants. Yamamoto didn't have his stuff in this one, allowing six hits and five walks while punching out four. The 26-year-old has been a mixed bag recently, with a few excellent starts being overshadowed by a couple of clunkers. Still, Yamamoto has been solid this season and deserves the benefit of the doubt for now, as he has a 6-5 record to go with a 2.64 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, and 90 strikeouts in 78 ⅓ IP. If anything, this rough stretch should leave some questions about whether Yamamoto is a fantasy ace, but he certainly remains a must-start pitcher. His next matchup comes next Thursday at home against the San Diego Padres, where he will look to get back on track.

Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher
Freddy Peralta was solid on Friday, tossing six innings of one-run ball against the St. Louis Cardinals. Peralta earned his sixth win of the season in this one, as the Brewers claimed a 3-2 victory. The 29-year-old allowed just four hits and a walk while striking out six. He has been a steady force for the Brewers, pitching to a 2.60 ERA and 1.13 WHIP while striking out 84 batters over 83 IP. While he isn't an ace, Peralta is very helpful in fantasy as he provides solid ratios and good strikeout numbers while picking up some wins along the way as well. His next start is scheduled for next Thursday in Chicago, where he will have a tough matchup against the Cubs.

Miami Marlins relief pitcher
Calvin Faucher worked a scoreless ninth inning to earn his sixth save in an 11-9 win over the Washington Nationals on Friday. Faucher allowed just a single and struck out one in his inning of work. The 29-year-old is now 6-for-9 in save opportunities and has a 4.01 ERA, 1.38 WHIP, and 23 strikeouts in 24 ⅔ IP. Outside of a collapse of epic proportions against the Chicago Cubs in May, Faucher has actually had a pretty solid season. He has been the go-to guy for the Marlins over the past three weeks, and it seems like he will be the top choice for saves moving forward in Miami. That isn't to say the Marlins couldn't switch it up on us, which they have already done this year. It also should be noted that even as the Marlins' primary save source, Faucher wouldn't be must-roster outside of deeper fantasy formats.

Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher
Charlie Morton (3-7) dominated the Los Angeles Angels on Friday, spinning five shutout innings in a 2-0 win. Morton scattered five hits and a walk while punching out 10 in this one. The 41-year-old veteran has been surprisingly decent after a brutal April, allowing more than two runs just once since May 7. He still has pretty disastrous numbers on the season, with a 6.05 ERA, 1.66 WHIP, and 67 strikeouts over 61 IP, but has at least managed to work himself back into the O's starting rotation with his solid work of late. In the right matchups, Morton could be used as a streamer, especially for those who are in need of strikeouts. He is in line to start against Tampa Bay on the road next Wednesday, which is one to avoid, even coming off this good effort.

Washington Nationals outfielder
James Wood had a monster night on Friday, going 3-for-5 with a homer, a double, three runs scored, and four RBI. Wood did all he could to get the Nats back into this one after they fell behind early, but it wasn't quite enough as they fell 11-9 to the Miami Marlins. The 22-year-old phenom has started to come around in his last few games after a dismal start to June, going 8-for-13 over his last three games. Overall, it has been a sensational year for Wood, who is hitting .287 with 42 runs, 17 homers, 49 RBI, and nine steals in 261 at-bats. If he can hit like he was before June, he will make a case for himself as a first-round pick in fantasy next year.

Miami Marlins catcher
Agustin Ramirez swatted two solo homers in an 11-9 win over the Washington Nationals. Ramirez homered in the first and third innings, both off
Mitchell Parker, and also singled and scored in the eighth. The 23-year-old had been slumping at the plate in June, hitting just .128 with a .355 OPS in 39 at-bats coming into this one, so hopefully this game gets him going. Ramirez has still been a solid bat this year, hitting .237 with 22 runs, 10 homers, 21 RBI, and a stolen base over 173 at-bats. It's nothing incredible, but it's solid production from the catcher position. Ramirez is a solid starting option in fantasy and should be rostered in most leagues.

Houston Astros rookie outfielder
Jacob Melton (ankle) is dealing with a right-ankle sprain, according to The Athletic's Chandler Rome. It may be a pretty serious ankle sprain, but the team will put him through tests on Saturday. Melton went 2-for-2 with a triple, three RBI and a run scored before being pulled from Friday's 10-3 blowout win over the Minnesota Twins. The 24-year-old, who is ranked as Houston's No. 2 prospect per MLB Pipeline, has gotten an opportunity with
Yordan Alvarez (hand) on the injured list, but he may be joining Alvarez there. His 2-for-2 game on Friday boosted his average to .241 in his first 11 games. If Melton needs to go on the injured list, which seems likely,
Jose Altuve could shift back to left field more regularly.
Shay Whitcomb would be another candidate to see more playing time for the Astros.

Houston Astros third baseman
Isaac Paredes (hamstring) is dealing with a left-hamstring strain, but he's not going on the injured list. Manager Joe Espada seemed hopeful that Paredes can avoid a trip to the IL altogether. The 26-year-old came up lame on Thursday night against the Chicago White Sox while trying to beat out a double-play ground ball and sat out of Friday's series-opening blowout win over the Minnesota Twins. While he may not return for Game 2 of the series against the Twins on Saturday, it sounds like the Mexican third baseman might not miss extended time. It's great news for fantasy managers, as Paredes has been one of the Astros' most productive hitters in his first year with the team. He already has 15 home runs, 42 RBI and 37 runs scored in 251 at-bats.
Mauricio Dubon could see additional starts at the hot corner until Paredes returns.

New York Mets right-hander
Kodai Senga (hamstring) has been diagnosed with a Grade 1 hamstring strain, according to NorthJersey's Andrew Tredinnick. Senga will be re-evaluated after two weeks, and it's relatively good news for the Mets, Senga and fantasy managers. The 32-year-old injured his right hamstring while covering first base in Thursday's win against the Washington Nationals when he came down awkwardly on the first base bag on a high throw. Based on the way it looked, the diagnosis of a mild hamstring strain is good news. Senga is still going to miss at least several weeks, and depending on whether he needs a minor-league rehab assignment, he might be cutting it close to make it back before the All-Star break in mid-July. Keep him stashed in all fantasy leagues. Meanwhile,
Paul Blackburn is taking his rotation spot for now. He's a deep-league streamer with limited upside.

Detroit Tigers second baseman
Gleyber Torres broke a 28-game home run drought in an 11-5 victory over the Cincinnati Reds on Friday. Torres, who hadn't homered since May 12, got to work immediately with a leadoff HR in the bottom of the first inning against starter
Nick Martinez. He added another solo shot in the seventh against reliever
Ian Gibaut for his first multi-homer game of the season. Torres ended the evening 2-for-4 with three RBI and a strikeout. Although he went a few weeks without a homer, Torres has been quite productive this year. He's hitting .271/.373/.414 with seven HRs, 33 RBI, 32 runs scored, four steals, and 33:30 BB:Kin 249 plate appearances. The plate discipline gains are especially encouraging for Torres, who posted a 20.3% strikeout rate and a 9.1% walk rate from 2018-24 as a Yankee.

Atlanta Braves designated hitter
Marcell Ozuna helped lead the club's offensive onslaught in a 12-4 victory over the Colorado Rockies on Friday. Ozuna came to the plate in the seventh inning in a 4-4 tie and slammed a three-run homer off right-hander
Victor Vodnik to give the Braves the lead for good. He finished the night 1-for-4 with four RBI and a pair of strikeouts. Ozuna has just two HRs in a 19-game span, though he has been playing through a hip injury that may be sapping him of power.. The 34-year-old is still hitting a highly effective .257/.392/.430 with a career-best 17.8% walk rate in 286 plate appearances. Riley Greene homered and drove in four runs to help the club to an 11-5 win over the Cincinnati Reds on Friday. Greene hadn't gone deep since May 30, but he ended a 12-game dry spell with a 426-foot bomb off starter
Nick Martinez in the bottom of the third inning. The 24-year-old also doubled during a 2-for-4 night. He's now batting .279/.334/.498 with 14 HRs, 48 RBI, and 34 runs scored over 287 plate appearances. While Greene is striking out at a lofty 31.4% clip, he's on pace to eclipse the career-high marks in HRs (24) and RBI (74) he established last year. The lefty-swinging Greene is a must-start for fantasy managers against right-handed pitchers. He'll face Reds righty

Aaron Judge crushed his 26th home run of the season in a 2-1 loss to the Boston Red Sox on Friday. Judge struck out in his first three at-bats against star southpaw
Garrett Crochet, but he got a measure of revenge in the top of the ninth inning. With Boston leading 1-0 and Crochet two outs away from a complete-game shutout, Judge crushed a 443-footer over the Green Monster to tie the game. Atlanta Braves outfielder
Ronald Acuna Jr. went 3-for-4 with a double, a walk, and a pair of runs scored in a 12-4 victory over the Colorado Rockies on Friday. Notably, Acuna also nabbed his first stolen base of the season in the Atlanta blowout. Acuna hadn't even attempted a steal in 2025 since making his season debut May 23. After taking a year to recover from a torn left ACL, Acuna has been careful on the base paths. He had been a significant source of steals since bursting on the scene in 2018, even amassing an incredible 73 during his most recent full season in 2023. While that part of Acuna's game hasn't been there this season, he's still terrorizing opposing pitchers with a .375/.458/.667 line, six home runs, and 11 RBI in 83 plate appearances. More steal attempts should come as Acuna continues distancing himself from last year's injury.

He now owns a sparkling 2.24 ERA with 117 strikeouts and 28 walks over 96 1/3 frames. Crochet will return to the mound on Wednesday in Seattle.

Colorado Rockies third baseman
Ryan McMahon delivered a stellar showing in the team's 12-4 loss to the Atlanta Braves on Friday. McMahon went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, a walk, and three RBI to continue putting a slow start to his season in the rear-view mirror. The 30-year-old was hitting a dismal .147/.273/.235 at the end of April, but the proverbial light bulb went on at the beginning of May. McMahon is now slashing a respectable .226/.342/.400 with nine homers, 22 RBI, a career-high 14.7% walk rate in 272 plate appearances. With an exit velocity that ranks in the league's 98th percentile and a .354 xwOBA, McMahon looks likely to reach the 20-HR mark for the fifth year in a row.

Detroit Tigers starting pitcher
Reese Olson (finger) appears to be cleared and ready to begin a minor league rehab assignment. Olson has been sidelined since the middle of May due to inflammation in his right finger. He's now taking the next step in his recovery process and beginning a rehab assignment with Triple-A Toledo on Saturday. The expectation is that Olson is going to need more than one rehab start before rejoining the Tigers rotation. Hopefully, Olson is back in the mix before the end of June. Fantasy managers should stay tuned for more updates on his status.

Ranger Suarez was tough to hit during Friday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays. This was a truly masterful performance as the Jays' hitters couldn't really make any hard contact. Pittsburgh Pirates relief pitcher
David Bednar was called upon to hold a one-run lead against the Chicago Cubs on Friday. The right-hander was given the ball in the 10th inning with an automatic runner at second base to begin the inning. That didn't seem to bother Bednar as he tossed a perfect frame to record his 10th save of the season. The right-hander was thrown nine straight scoreless frames, which dates back to late May. It's nice to see Bednar getting back on the right track as he could be a popular name around the trade deadline. For now, he's worth rostering in fantasy formats where saves matter.

Paul Skenes was once again sharp on the mound during Friday's start against the Chicago Cubs. Skenes saw his pitch count quickly rise on him, so he didn't have an extremely long out. He tossed five scoreless innings, allowing four hits, while walking two batters and striking out five in the no-decision. Skenes has been unbelievable as he's allowed one earned run or less in each of his last seven starts. He's obviously a must-start in all fantasy formats as he heads into a tough matchup against the Detroit Tigers next week.
