Jonathan India Leaves With Apparent Shoulder Injury
Jonathan India (shoulder) was looked at by a trainer after diving for a ball behind second base on Friday against the visiting Athletics. India initially stayed in the game but was holding his shoulder. MLB.com's Anne Rogers reports that India exited the game in the seventh inning. Nick Loftin moved from left field to second, with Drew Waters entering the game in left field. Before departing, India went 0-for-3 out of the leadoff spot for the Royals. The injury didn't look great for the 28-year-old, so it would be a surprise if he's back in action for Game 2 of the series at Kauffman Stadium on Saturday. If India misses extended time with his shoulder injury, Loftin would be the primary replacement at the keystone in KC. In his first year with the Royals, India hasn't been much of a fantasy asset, as he entered Friday's game with a .252 average, just three homers, 18 RBI and 27 runs.
