Royce Lewis Dealing With Hamstring Strain
Royce Lewis (hamstring) has a "left-hamstring strain of some kind." "He actually tested relatively well after the game upon examination in the training room. We're going to bring him in tomorrow and check him out, see how he comes in." While the team is saying the injury isn't all that serious, Lewis has a history of hamstring issues and missed the first month-plus of the 2025 season with a strain in the same hamstring. The 26-year-old will be evaluated again on Saturday, but we wouldn't be surprised if he lands on the injured list. He went 2-for-4 with a solo homer, his second of the year, in the 10-3 loss to the Astros. The former first overall pick came into Friday's game hitting just .189 in 106 at-bats in 29 games, but he has 30-homer power if he can ever play a full season. Brooks Lee would take over again at third base if Lewis goes back on the IL.
