Chris Buescher had probably his best run of the season on Sunday at Michigan, where he finished second in a race where all three RFK Racing cars placed in the top 10. Michigan has always been a great track for the team, dating back to the Roush Racing days, so it shouldn't come as much of a surprise that Buescher made his first on-track pass for the lead there when he passed William Byron to win Stage 1. However, like in many recent races, Buescher qualified well and fell back to mid-pack for most of the middle stages of the race. Although he failed to score points in Stage 2, he re-entered the top 10 on Lap 124 and stayed there for the rest of the race. As one of the NASCAR Cup Series' most conservative drivers, his ability to save fuel allowed him to inherit second place when Byron ran out of fuel. He improved to 20 points above the playoff cut line over his teammate Ryan Preece. He'll likely remain around the bubble for the rest of the regular season.--Sean Wrona - RotoBaller
