San Francisco 49ers rookie fourth-round wide receiver Jordan Watkins hasn't been perfect in offseason workouts this spring, but The Athletic's Matt Barrows writes that he has stood out in the way that read more...

Kansas City Royals starting pitcher Seth Lugo tossed 5 2/3 scoreless innings, but did not factor into Thursday's 1-0 loss to the New York Yankees. The veteran yielded two hits and three walks, striking out two in the no-decision. Lugo was excellent in this one, limiting the Yanks to two singles and allowing no earned runs for the second time in 2025. The 35-year-old righty has been solid for the Royals through 12 starts, notching a 3.18 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, and 52:22 K:BB ratio in his first 70 2/3 innings. However, it's worth mentioning that he's outpitching his 5.35 xERA by a good margin (4.18 xFIP). He'll look to get back in the win column in his next start, a road outing with the Texas Rangers in the middle of next week.--Alex CiullaSource: ESPN

Toronto Blue Jays right-handed pitching prospect Trey Yesavage had a modest debut at Double-A on Thursday evening. Facing Double-A Reading, the No. 2-ranked prospect in the Toronto system tossed four innings of one-run ball. He struck out four but also struggled with his command, allowing four walks. Despite this, Yesavage was able to limit much of the damage. The 21-year-old is considered the No. 70-ranked prospect in baseball on MLB.com. He opened the season with Low-A but needed just 33 1/3 innings to prove he was ready to join High-A. At High-A, Yesavage logged 17 1/3 innings to the tune of a 1.56 ERA with a 0.92 WHIP. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his progression with Double-A. He remains on track to reach the majors early in 2026.--Andy SmithSource: MiLB.com

Miranda Maverick will look to extend her win streak when she takes on former two-time strawweight champion and her former training partner Rose Namajunas in the co-main event of UFC Atlanta. Since losing to Jasmine Jasudavicius back in June 2023 at UFC 289, Maverick has looked very good, winning four fights in a row. She was last seen in action at UFC Tampa, where she defeated Jamey-Lyn Horth via unanimous decision. DraftKings sees Maverick as the underdog with a salary of $7,100.--Alen Kurbasic - RotoBallerSource: UFC

Philadelphia's Phillies outfield prospect Justin Crawford (quadriceps) has been held out of action since June 5 due to a quadriceps injury. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status as he could be placed on the injury list if this injury lingers. Before being sidelined, Crawford was riding a six-game hitting streak at Triple-A Lehigh Valley. During this stint, Crawford posted a strong .542/.577/.583 line with a double and seven stolen bases. Through 52 total games with Triple-A this season, Crawford has looked quite comfortable, holding .349/.416/.448 line with 12 doubles, three triples, one home run, and 23 stolen bases. While he does not possess high power upside, Crawford has consistently shown elite contact skills with speed upside. He should be in the mix to reach the majors during the second half of the campaign.--Andy SmithSource: Cory Nidoh

On Saturday, former two-time UFC women's strawweight champion Rose Namajunas will look to bounce back in the win column when she takes on her former training partner Miranda Maverick in the co-main event of UFC Atlanta. Namajunas was last seen in action in November at UFC Edmonton, where she lost to Erin Blanchfield via unanimous decision. Prior to that loss, Namajunas won two fights in a row, beating Amanda Ribas and Tracy Cortez. DraftKings sees Barcelos as the favorite with a salary of $9,100.--Alen Kurbasic - RotoBallerSource: UFC

Houston Astros shortstop Jeremy Pena went 2-for-4 with a run scored and two singles in Thursday's 4-3 win against the Chicago White Sox. The Dominican Republic native has been one of the hottest hitters in baseball in recent weeks, registering multiple hits in 11 of his last 17 outings. He's got three home runs and eight steals over that stretch with 13 runs scored and eight RBI. Pena has been quite the catalyst at the top of Houston's order, slashing a robust .429/.442/.548 in 42 June at-bats. Overall, on the season, he's up to a .324 average with nine home runs, 14 doubles, one triple, 14 steals, 33 RBI, and 38 runs scored. The 27-year-old is on pace to crush all of his personal bests in 2025.--Alex CiullaSource: ESPN

On Saturday, Andre Petroski will look to extend his win streak when he takes on Edmen Shahbazyan on the main card of UFC Atlanta. Petroski made his debut against Micheal Gillmore at UFC Vegas 35, and he managed to get the TKO win. He won his next four fights before suffering back-to-back TKO losses to Michel Pereira and Jacob Malkoun. He managed to bounce back and is now on a three-fight winning streak. DraftKings sees Petroski as the underdog with a salary of $7,400.--Alen Kurbasic - RotoBallerSource: UFC

San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh said that linebacker Dee Winters has "been impressive" this spring during offseason workouts. The Niners sent a message to Winters in April by taking weakside linebacker Nick Martin in the third round. Winters has looked more confident and aggressive than in previous years, both on run defense and in the passing game, according to The Athletic's Matt Barrows. He's now heading into the summer with momentum, but the 24-year-old will still have to hold off Martin in training camp. "I don't want to jinx him or anything, but if he stays on his trajectory and he attacks these next 40 days and he does things the right way, I think he's due for a heck of a season," Saleh said. The former sixth-rounder started 10 of 15 games in his second season in 2024 and compiled 44 tackles (26 solo) and four pass breakups for the 49ers.--Keith HernandezSource: The Athletic - Matt Barrows

Edmen Shahbazyan will look to win back-to-back fights when he takes on Andre Petroski on the main card of UFC Atlanta. Shahbazyan has been inconsistent for quite some time, alternating between wins and losses in recent years. Last August at UFC Vegas 96, Shahbazyan got submitted by Gerald Meerschaert, but more recently, he got back in the win column by beating Dylan Budka via first-round TKO. DraftKings sees Shahbazyan as the favorite with a salary of $8,800.--Alen Kurbasic - RotoBallerSource: UFC

Raoni Barcelos is scheduled to face off against former bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt on the main card of UFC Atlanta on Saturday. Barcelos made his debut for the promotion back in 2018, but the first few fights in the UFC didn't go according to plan. He went 1-4 with three decision losses in his first five fights, but he's since bounced back with two consecutive wins. Barcelos was last seen in action in January at UFC 311, where he defeated Payton Talbott via unanimous decision, which was his biggest win of his career. DraftKings sees Barcelos as the favorite with a salary of $8,500.--Alen Kurbasic - RotoBallerSource: UFC

Former bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt will look to get back in the win column when he faces off against Raoni Barcelos on the main card of UFC Atlanta on Saturday. Garbrandt was last seen in action back in April 2024 at UFC 300, where he lost to former flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo via second-round submission. Since losing the bantamweight title to T.J. Dillashaw, Garbrandt hasn't looked great as he's lost five out of his last eight bouts. DraftKings sees Garbrandt as the underdog with a salary of $7,700.--Alen Kurbasic - RotoBallerSource: UFC

Undefeated prospect Mansur Abdul-Malik is scheduled to take on veteran Cody Brundage on the main card of UFC Atlanta on Saturday. Abdul-Malik has looked great in his UFC career thus far. First, he finished Dusko Todorovic in his UFC debut via first-round TKO, and more recently, he finished Nick Klein via second-round TKO. If Abdul-Malik wins this fight, he just might be looked at as one of the most exciting prospects in the sport. DraftKings sees Sy as a massive favorite with a salary of $9,600.--Alen Kurbasic - RotoBallerSource: UFC

Cody Brundage is set to face off against undefeated Mansur Abdul-Malik on the main card of UFC Atlanta on Saturday. Brundage was last seen in action in March at UFC Vegas 103, where he got back in the win column by defeating Julian Marquez via first-round TKO. That was his first win since December 2023. Since signing with the promotion, Brundage has been inconsistent, going 5-5 with one NC. DraftKings sees Brundage as a huge underdog with a salary of $6,600.--Alen Kurbasic - RotoBallerSource: UFC

This weekend, Alonzo Menifield will look to win back-to-back fights when he takes on undefeated Oumar Sy on the UFC Atlanta main card opener. He bounced back from two consecutive losses against Carlos Ulberg and Azamat Murzakanov to defeat Julius Walker in February this year via a split decision. Since signing with the UFC, Menifield has gone 9-5-1. DraftKings sees Menifield as a massive underdog with a salary of $6,700.--Alen Kurbasic - RotoBallerSource: UFC

He was last seen at UFC Paris where he defeated Da Woon Jung to improve his UFC record to 2-0. DraftKings sees Sy as the favorite with a salary of $9,500.--Alen Kurbasic - RotoBallerSource: UFC

The Milwaukee Brewers acquired first baseman Andrew Vaughn from the Chicago White Sox on Friday in exchange for right-hander Aaron Civale, sources tell ESPN's Jesse Rogers. Vaughn, the third overall pick back in 2019 out of Cal Berkeley, never lived up to his draft stock in Chicago in his five seasons, hitting .248/.303/.407 with a .709 OPS, 77 homers, 293 RBI and 247 runs scored in 610 games. The 27-year-old was demoted to Triple-A Charlotte in May after starting the 2025 season hitting just .189 (35-for-185) with five homers, 19 RBI and 43 strikeouts in 193 trips to the plate. While the move to Milwaukee puts him with a much better team, Vaughn could remain at the Triple-A level in Nashville with his new organization as depth at first base behind Rhys Hoskins and at designated hitter behind Christian Yelich. The trade really does nothing to boost his already floundering fantasy value.--Keith HernandezSource: ESPN Chicago - Jesse Rogers

The Chicago White Sox acquired right-hander Aaron Civale from the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday in exchange for first baseman Andrew Vaughn, sources tell ESPN's Jesse Rogers. Civale was bumped from the rotation this week in favor of pitching prospect Jacob Misiorowski and immediately requested a trade to somewhere where he'd start again. The 30-year-old should immediately move into Chicago's starting rotation, possibly as soon as this weekend against the Texas Rangers on the road. He's been limited to just five starts this year due to injury and has gone 1-2 with a 4.91 ERA (5.53 FIP) and 1.36 WHIP with 19 strikeouts and seven walks in 22 innings pitched. Civale has limited fantasy upside with a career 8.1 K/9 in 658 1/3 innings, and although he'll be back in a starting role, he's moving to the worst team in the American League.--Keith HernandezSource: ESPN Chicago - Jesse Rogers

Chicago Cubs right-hander Jameson Taillon (7-3) was fantastic on Thursday against the Pittsburgh Pirates and walked away with his fifth victory over his last five outings. Taillon has been phenomenal in 2025, enjoying one of his better seasons as a big leaguer. Against the Pirates on Thursday, he went 6 1/3 innings, allowed four hits, two earned runs, two walks, and tallied seven strikeouts as the Cubs went on to win 3-2. On the season, Taillon now owns an impressive 3.48 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, 7.08 K/9, and a 1.75 BB/9 over 82 2/3 innings pitched. After losing Justin Steele (elbow) for the season, and Shota Imanaga (hamstring) being out since May 4, Taillon has stepped up for the Cubs in a big way thus far in 2025. Next up, he tentatively lines up to take on the Milwaukee Brewers at home on Wednesday, June 18.--NichoSource: ESPN

Washington Nationals young star James Wood enjoyed a nice afternoon on Thursday, going 3-for-4 with one run scored and one strikeout in the Nationals' 4-3 loss to the New York Mets. Wood has gone 13-for-43 over the past two weeks (.302 average), but has not hit a home run since May 30 in Seattle. In addition, he has only scored two runs and knocked in two RBI since May 31 and not stolen a base during this time. Although the average has been solid, Wood has had a quiet couple of weeks in category leagues, primarily due to his lack of RBI, runs scored, stolen bases, and home runs. Next up for Wood is a three-game series back at home against the Miami Marlins, where he is projected to take on three right-handed starters.--NichoSource: RotoBaller

Detroit Tigers young right-hander Jackson Jobe (elbow) is scheduled to undergo Tommy John surgery and will miss the rest of the 2025 season, so the Tigers will move him to the 60-day IL to clear a 40-man spot for Matt Gage, who was selected from Triple-A Toledo on Thursday. A timeline for Jobe's return will likely arise following his procedure, though it's practically a guarantee that he won't be cleared to pitch until mid-to-late 2026 at the earliest. From a fantasy perspective, it appears Sawyer Gipson-Long has taken the fifth spot in the rotation. Jobe finished his rookie season with 49 innings pitched, a 4.22 ERA, and 1.49 WHIP.--NichoSource: Tigers PR

Baltimore Orioles catcher Gary Sanchez (wrist) now has a greater chance to return before the end of the homestand, per Orioles interim manager Tony Mansolino, who said the backup catcher is progressing through rehab quicker than expected. Sanchez is on a tear in Triple-A Norfolk, going 8-for-20 with three home runs in six rehab games, and seems to be coming along more quickly than expected. He injured his wrist in late April, and it appears he could return to action within the next day or two. Sanchez is expected to continue to back up Adley Rutschman and start in the lineup occasionally against left-handed pitchers. Sanchez is not a recommended waiver-wire pickup in the immediate future.--NichoSource: Jake Rill

Texas Rangers right-hander Nathan Eovaldi (triceps) recently returned to Arlington for further diagnostics. He has been playing catch over the last few days, and the club hopes he'll throw a bullpen session sometime Saturday or Sunday. His rehab appears to be progressing as expected. Eovaldi was removed from his start on May 27 with the injury, and considering the location of the injury, this is positive news coming from the Rangers' clubhouse, as Eovaldi seems to be moving in the right direction and possibly could return to the mound in the next couple of weeks after a few bullpens. At this point, it's unclear if the Rangers will have him make a rehab start in the minors or not. Fantasy managers will want to keep tabs on how his bullpen goes over the weekend.--NichoSource: Texas Rangers

Winnipeg Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck has been named the 2024-25 Hart and Vezina Trophy winner. He became the fifth goalie to win both the Hart and Vezina in the same season, the first since Carey Price in 2014-15. Hellebuyck was nearly a unanimous winner of the Vezina, receiving 31 of 32 first-place votes from the NHL's general managers. This marks the third time he has been recognized as the best goaltender of the year in the league. In the MVP voting for the Hart Trophy, Hellebuyck collected 1,346 votes, edging out Edmonton Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl (1,209) and Tampa Bay Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov (973). Additionally, Hellebuyck earned the William M. Jennings Trophy this season for contributing to the Jets allowing a league-low 191 goals during the regular season. Hellebuyck has been among the league's top goalies for quite some time and should have many quality years left in him, as he only turned 32 last month.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBallerSource: NHL.com

Florida Panthers center Aleksander Barkov opened his 2025 Stanley Cup Finals scoring account with two assists in Thursday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Edmonton Oilers. Barkov's helpers came in the first period on power-play goals by Matthew Tkachuk. The Panthers captain has had a limited role in the attack, as he has been tasked with slowing down Connor McDavid in the Finals. However, Barkov has enjoyed a solid postseason overall, scoring six goals and 19 points in 21 outings. He is also averaging a block per game and has dished out 49 hits.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

Florida Panthers forward Sam Reinhart recorded a second consecutive multi-point game in the Stanley Cup Finals in a 5-4 overtime loss to the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday. He picked up a pair of first-period assists, including one on the power play, and sent the game into overtime with only 20 seconds left in regulation. After going scoreless in seven of nine games, Reinhart has broken his offensive slump in style, accumulating five points (two goals, three assists) over the past two contests. While Reinhart has slowed down during the latter half of the postseason, he is still nearly averaging a point per game, with six goals and 12 assists across 19 appearances.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

Florida Panthers winger Matthew Tkachuk tallied two goals and an assist in Thursday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Edmonton Oilers in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals. He scored both goals on the power play in the first period, leading the charge as Florida jumped to a 3-0 lead. Tkachuk, who had managed only two points over the first three matchups against Edmonton, capped off his three-point night with an assist in the third period when Sam Reinhart tied the game with only 20 seconds remaining in regulation. Florida has had nine players score 15 or more points this postseason, with Tkachuk leading the group with 21 points, along with Sam Bennett. He has recorded seven goals and a team-high 14 assists.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

Edmonton Oilers goaltender Calvin Pickard maintained his perfect record this postseason in Thursday's 5-4 overtime win against the Florida Panthers, improving to 7-0 with a relief effort. The Panthers chased Stuart Skinner in the first period, putting three pucks past him with 17 shots. Edmonton was in big trouble but managed to produce an impressive comeback victory, with Pickard allowing only one goal on 23 shots. The 33-year-old became the sixth netminder in history to win a Stanley Cup Finals game in relief. He is the fourth Oilers goaltender to win seven straight decisions in a postseason. It seems likely that Pickard will have the opportunity to extend his streak as a starter in Game 5.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBallerSource: ESPN
