Edmonton Oilers defenseman Mattias Ekholm posted two assists in Thursday's 5-4 overtime win in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals against the Florida Panthers. He played a crucial role in an incredible Oilers comeback, as the team entered the first intermission down 3-0. Darnell Nurse scored off Ekholm's feed in the second period, and his second assist came in overtime when Leon Draisaitl ended the game. Ekholm was late to the party, not making his postseason debut until Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals, but he has not needed much time to pick up form. The Swedish blue-liner has tallied five points (one goal, four assists) in as many games, firing off nine attempts on goal and blocking 11 shots.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

Edmonton Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl scored the game-winning goal and had two assists as his squad tied the Stanley Cup Finals against the Florida Panthers with a 5-4 overtime victory on Thursday night. The German superstar buried his fourth overtime goal of the postseason 11:18 into the extra frame. Draisaitl became the first player in NHL history to score as many as four overtime goals during a single playoff run. It was Draisaitl's 11th multi-point performance of the postseason, giving him 32 points (11 goals, 21 assists) through 20 games. Wayne Gretzky was previously the only player to have multiple postseasons in the NHL with at least 10 goals and 20 assists.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

Washington Nationals right-handed pitching prospect Travis Sykora tallied a season-high 10 punchouts en route to picking up the victory on Thursday against High-A Hub City. In this outing, Sykora tossed five shutout innings. He allowed just two hits and no walks. Through his first 18 innings at the High-A level, Sykora has held an impressive 1.00 ERA with a 0.50 WHIP. During this stretch, he has struck out 32 batters and allowed just two free passes. Sykora opened the campaign with Low-A, where he tossed six shutout innings with nine strikeouts. Last season, the top-ranked prospect in the system held a 2.33 ERA with a stellar 0.91 WHIP across 85 innings of work at Low-A. He struck out 129 batters while allowing only 27 free passes. Sykora will likely spend most of the season with High-A but is quickly rising up prospect boards.--Andy SmithSource: MiLB.com

Indiana Pacers center Myles Turner is battling cold symptoms but continues to contribute as much as possible to his team's NBA Finals run. He played 30 minutes in Game 3 and had a few critical defensive plays does the stretch while finishing with nine points, two rebounds, five blocks, a steal, and an assist. It was the most minutes he has played in five games, but Pacers coach Rick Carlisle said, "Myles is under the weather... He just hasn't been feeling well the last couple of days. It was affecting his wind. He won't bring it up, but I think it's just appropriate to mention that he's working through something." Turner is not on the injury report, so he doesn't seem in danger of missing Game 4, but he may be at less than 100% once again.--Zach ThompsonSource: Joel A. Erickson

Houston Astros left-hander Josh Hader picked up his 18th save in a 4-3 win over the Chicago White Sox on Thursday. Hader allowed one run on two hits in his lone inning of work while striking out two in the frame. He made things interesting in the outing, coughing up a solo homer to Mike Tauchman to cut the Astros' lead to one run and then putting the tying run on second base via a Miguel Vargas double. Hader bounced back, however, striking out Austin Slater to get the final out. Hader now has a 2-0 record, 1.55 ERA, 0.79 WHIP, 18 saves, and 45 strikeouts over 29 innings of work on the season. He remains an elite fantasy closer in all formats.--Matt TerelleSource: MLB.com

Houston Rockets guard Reed Sheppard will be part of the team's roster for the upcoming summer league in Las Vegas, as the team looks to create a bigger role for him next year. Sheppard was the No. 3 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, but he only played 12.6 minutes per game in 52 games during his rookie season. He averaged 4.4 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 1.4 assists with a 17.8% usage rate. He earned All-Summer League First Team honors last year after producing 20.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 2.8 steals in four games. This year, he'll look to claim a larger role in the Rockets' rotation for his sophomore season with another strong showing. The summer league will take place from July 10-20 in Las Vegas.--Zach ThompsonSource: Danielle Lerner

New York Yankees right-hander Devin Williams preserved a 1-0 win over the Kansas City Royals on Thursday. Williams fired a perfect ninth inning while striking out one to earn his ninth save of the season. The veteran reliever got off to a rough start this season but has improved as the year has gone on, posting a 1.98 ERA over his past 15 appearances, spanning 13 2/3 innings of work. Overall, Williams has a 2-2 record, 5.68 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, and 32 strikeouts over 25 1/3 innings of work on the year. He should remain a top-notch fantasy closer going forward.--Matt TerelleSource: MLB.com

New York Mets infield prospect Jett Williams continued to swing a hot bat on Thursday. During their contest against Double-A Richmond, Williams went 3-for-4 at the plate with a double, two triples, a stolen base, and two RBI. Williams has tallied at least one hit in each of his last four games and posted three multi-hit games during this stretch. Over his last seven games, Williams has only gone hitless once and held an impressive .552/.633/1.130 line with four doubles, two triples, two home runs, and a stolen base. Through 52 games with Double-A this season, the top-ranked prospect in Queens has posted a strong .298/.407/.530 slash line with 16 doubles, four triples, and six long balls. Given his steady progress, Williams will likely move up to Triple-A in the coming weeks.--Andy SmithSource: MiLB.com

Detroit Tigers right-hander Will Vest slammed the door on the Baltimore Orioles to earn the save in a 4-1 win on Thursday. Vest tossed a scoreless ninth inning, striking out two while not allowing a hit on 19 pitches to pick up his 12th save of the season. The veteran reliever has run away with the closer's role in Detroit after they opened the year with a committee. Vest now has a 5-0 record, 1.83 ERA, 0.90 WHIP, and 36 strikeouts over 34 1/3 innings of work while blowing only two saves. With the Tigers leading the AL Central, Vest should continue to see plenty of save chances going forward.--Matt TerelleSource: MLB.com

Chicago White Sox third baseman Miguel Vargas had a big day in his team's 4-3 loss to the Houston Astros on Thursday. Vargas went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a triple, a walk, and two runs scored in the one-run loss. The veteran has been a productive bat for the Sox this season, hitting .242 with 17 doubles, one triple, nine homers, 32 runs, 30 RBI, and two stolen bases across 240 at-bats. After hitting under .200 in each of his previous three seasons, this season's modest breakout is a welcome sight for Vargas and fantasy gamers. He has worked his way into the conversation as a viable reserve corner infield option in most fantasy leagues.--Matt TerelleSource: MLB.com

According to Shams Charania of ESPN, the Phoenix Suns are focused on trading forward Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets, Minnesota Timberwolves, San Antonio Spurs, New York Knicks, and Miami Heat. The insider said that there is traction towards getting a deal done soon, and that the deal could get done ahead of the NBA Draft in a few weeks. Durant is on an expiring contract and could either be viewed as a one-year "rental" player or be given a longer-term deal. If he is traded, Durant will be eligible to sign a two-year, $112 million extension with his new team in July. Knicks' and Spurs' reporters have downplayed the likelihood of Durant landing with those teams, but the Heat seem to be legitimately interested, according to Ira Winderman of The South Florida Sun Sentinel.--Zach ThompsonSource: Shams Charania

Chicago Cubs outfield prospect Owen Caissie went deep in his third-straight game during the first game of a doubleheader on Thursday against Triple-A Louisville. In this contest, Caissie went 2-for-3 with a home run and a stolen base. However, in the second game, he saw his impressive power streak come to an end as he went 1-for-3 with a double. Over his last 18 games, the No. 3-ranked prospect in the Cubs' system has been swinging a hot bat, holding a stellar .328/.416/.582 slash line with eight doubles, three home runs, 11 RBI, and two stolen bases. Through 54 total games, Caissie has posted a .262/.366/.510 line with 16 doubles and 10 long balls. Given his steady progression at Triple-A, Caissie should be in the mix to reach the majors this season. However, given the depth in the Chicago outfield, he will likely need to wait for an injury.--Andy SmithSource: MiLB.com

Texas Rangers shortstop Josh Smith had a big day in his team's 16-3 win over the Minnesota Twins on Thursday. Smith went 2-for-5 with a homer, a walk, three runs, and one RBI in the lopsided victory. The veteran infielder kicked off the scoring in the game with a leadoff homer off Twins starter Bailey Ober. Smith is now hitting .279 with six homers, 26 runs, 19 RBI, and eight stolen bases across 208 at-bats for the Rangers this season. He has been hot over the past week, batting .393 with a homer and three RBI in his past seven contests. Smith has settled in as a solid, if unspectacular, fantasy option in most leagues.--Matt TerelleSource: MLB.com

Colorado Rockies outfielder Mickey Moniak had a productive game in his team's 8-7 win over the San Francisco Giants on Thursday. Moniak went 2-for-3 with a solo homer and two runs scored to help down San Francisco in the comeback victory. The veteran outfielder was a key part of the comeback as he cut the Giants' lead to 7-3 with his solo homer in the sixth inning. Moniak is now batting .227 with seven homers, 21 runs, 18 RBI, and two stolen bases across 163 at-bats this season. He is on a modest hot streak, with a .278 average and two homers over his past seven contests.--Matt TerelleSource: MLB.com

Detroit Tigers infield prospect Kevin McGonigle went 4-for-5 with two doubles and a home run during their contest against High-A Lansing on Thursday evening. McGonigle has continued to swing a hot bat since moving up to High-A. Through 18 games with High-A West Michigan this season, the No. 2-ranked prospect in Detroit has posted a stellar .394/.488/.704 slash line with 13 doubles, three home runs, and a 12:13 K:BB. He began the season on the injured list and spent a six-game stint with Low-A during his rehab assignment, and hit a .235/.350/.352 line. Last summer, the No. 26-ranked prospect in baseball made his High-A debut but struggled during his first 14 games, posting a mere .214 AVG with a .725 OPS. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor McGonigle's progression as he will likely earn the call to Double-A in the coming weeks.--Andy SmithSource: MiLB.com

Colorado Rockies second baseman Thairo Estrada was a key part of his team's 8-7 win over the San Francisco Giants on Thursday. Estrada went 3-for-5 with two doubles, one run, and two RBI to help down the Giants in the contest. The veteran infielder ripped a two-run double to cut the Giants' lead to 7-5 in the seventh inning. He later came around to score the game-tying run following his second double of the evening. Estrada is now hitting .261 with five doubles, four runs, and seven RBI across 46 at-bats this season. With two seasons of 21 or more stolen bases under his belt, Estrada has some potential in fantasy if he can work his way into an everyday role with the Rockies.--Matt TerelleSource: MLB.com

Chicago White Sox left-handed pitching prospect Noah Schultz tossed 5 2/3 shutout innings during his latest start on Thursday against Double-A Montgomery. In this outing, the left-hander struck out seven batters and allowed just one hit. He served up five walks. Since allowing five runs on May 18, Schultz has been one of the most dominant arms at the Double-A level. During this stretch, the No. 13-ranked prospect in the sport has held a stellar 1.31 ERA with a 1.31 WHIP. Across these 20 2/3 innings, Schultz has struck out 19 batters but struggled with his command, allowing 13 free passes. Through 56 2/3 total innings this season, Schultz has held a 3.34 ERA with a 1.59 WHIP. Fantasy managers should keep an eye on his status as he will likely be in the mix to reach Triple-A later this season.--Andy SmithSource: MiLB.com

Baltimore Orioles outfielder Dylan Carlson was one of the lone bright spots in his team's 4-1 loss to the Detroit Tigers on Thursday. Carlson went 3-for-3 with a solo homer to provide Baltimore's only run in the loss. He ruined the Tigers' shutout with a solo blast in the eighth inning, a shot that traveled 408 feet with an exit velocity of 103.8 MPH. Carlson is now hitting .247 with four homers, seven runs, 12 RBI, and one steal across 73 at-bats this season. He has been swinging a hot bat since a quiet start to the season, hitting .333 with four homers and 10 RBI over his past 15 games, spanning 51 at-bats. He's worth a look as an add in deeper leagues while he's hot at the plate.--Matt TerelleSource: MLB.com

San Francisco Giants first base prospect Bryce Eldridge went 1-for-4 with a home run during their contest against Triple-A Tacoma on Thursday evening. This was Eldridge's second home run since moving up to Triple-A. Through his first eight games with Sacramento this season, Eldridge has struggled, holding a .138/.235/.345 line with a 12:4 K:BB. He received a brief taste of Triple-A last season as well, and posted a .258/.343/.258 line across eight contests. At the start of the season, Eldridge was with Double-A and looked quite comfortable as he held a .280/.350/.512 line with eight doubles, seven home runs, and a 39:13 K:BB. If the top-ranked prospect in the San Francisco system can build off this outing, he could be in the mix to reach the majors early in the second half.--Andy SmithSource: MiLB.com

Houston Astros outfielder Jose Altuve turned in a productive game in his team's 4-3 win over the Chicago White Sox on Thursday. Altuve went 2-for-3 with two doubles, a walk, a run, two RBI, and a stolen base in the one-run win. The veteran notched one of the key at-bats of the game when he gave Houston a 2-1 lead with a two-run double in the third inning. Altuve is now hitting .275 with nine doubles, nine homers, 32 runs, 27 RBI, and six stolen bases across 255 at-bats for the Astros this season. He has fallen off since his prime and is more of a reserve option in deeper fantasy leagues these days.--Matt TerelleSource: MLB.com

Texas Rangers outfielder Sam Haggerty was not in the initial starting lineup but made his mark in a 16-3 win over the Minnesota Twins on Thursday. Haggerty hit a pinch-hit, three-run homer in his only at-bat in the lopsided win. The veteran pinch-hit for Marcus Semien and launched a three-run shot in the ninth inning, a blast that gave the Rangers their final runs of the game. Haggerty is now hitting .268 with two homers, 13 runs, nine RBI, and five stolen bases across 71 at-bats for the Rangers this season. As a part-time player, Haggerty isn't on the radar in fantasy leagues.--Matt TerelleSource: MLB.com

Chicago Cubs right-hander Ryan Pressly picked up a save in his team's 3-2 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday. Pressly tossed a scoreless ninth inning without allowing a baserunner on the way to earning his fifth save in as many chances for the Cubs. It was the 36-year-old's first save since April as the Cubs have turned to Daniel Palencia, who pitched the eighth, as their preferred closer. Pressly now has a 2-2 record, 3.81 ERA, 1.54 WHIP, and 16 strikeouts over 26 innings of work this season. It is likely that the Cubs were just playing the matchups with Pressly and Palencia flipping roles on Thursday. Look for Pressly to return to his setup role moving forward.--Matt TerelleSource: MLB.com

San Francisco Giants first baseman Dominic Smith had a big night in his team's 8-7 loss to the Colorado Rockies on Thursday. Smith went 3-for-4 with a homer, a walk, two runs, and three RBI but it wasn't quite enough in the one-run loss. The veteran launched a three-run homer in the fifth inning to push the Giants' lead to 7-2. Smith signed with the Giants in early June after the New York Yankees released him. He has appeared in eight games, hitting .320 with one homer, three runs, seven RBI, and one stolen base. He will look to stay hot as he gets more at-bats under his belt this season.--Matt TerelleSource: MLB.com

Milwaukee Brewers left-handed pitching prospect Robert Gasser (elbow) is scheduled to face hitters in a live batting practice session in Arizona this week. Gasser, the team's No. 11 prospect per MLB Pipeline, will be facing hitters for the first time this week since having Tommy John surgery last June. The 26-year-old southpaw will be brought along slowly before eventually going on what will be a lengthy minor-league rehab assignment. Even if Gasser doesn't have any setbacks along the way, he probably won't be able to return to the big-league starting rotation until later in the season. He went 2-0 with a 2.57 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 16:1 K:BB in his first five major-league starts last year before getting hurt. For fantasy purposes, he won't really be a valuable contributor until next season, when he should have a great shot to win a rotation spot out of spring training as long as he's healthy.--Keith HernandezSource: Milwaukee Journal Sentinel - Curt Hogg

Milwaukee Brewers manager Pat Murphy said that outfielder Blake Perkins (shin) is scheduled to report to Triple-A Nashville on June 25 to start his minor-league rehab assignment. Perkins has had a slow go of it during his rehab from a fractured right shin that has kept him out for the entire 2025 season. The 28-year-old is getting close to playing in games again, but that doesn't mean that he'll be ready to rejoin the major-league roster before the All-Star break in mid-July. Perkins, a switch-hitter, was originally a second-round pick by the Washington Nationals in 2015. He made his big-league debut in 2023 with Milwaukee and has hit .234 (123-for-526) with 10 home runs, 63 RBI, 82 runs and 28 stolen bases in 188 games in his two big-league seasons. Given Milwaukee's crowded outfield, the defense-first Perkins figure to be a bench bat with plenty of speed to spare when he comes off the injured list.--Keith HernandezSource: Brewer Fanatic - Jack Stern

Colorado Rockies second base prospect Adael Amador went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in Thursday's 9-8 win over Triple-A Oklahoma City. Amador has been highly productive all season, hitting .306/.394/.482 with four homers and four steals in 99 plate appearances. The 22-year-old was promoted to the majors on April 13 and spent 33 games with the club. He struggled a bit, as he produced just a .465 OPS. Amador has strong contact skills and speed with some pop and should be expected to return to the majors shortly. He'd make for a solid add for managers in need of some stolen bases.--Kyle McCarthySource: MiLB.com

Updating a previous report, Milwaukee Brewers right-handed pitching prospect Jacob Misiorowski (calf, quadriceps) was pulled from his major-league debut on Thursday night against the division-rival St. Louis Cardinals with cramping in his right calf and quadriceps, according to the team. Despite the cramping issues, Misiorowski dazzled in his debut, throwing five shutout and no-hit innings with four walks and five strikeouts to pick up his first MLB win. The 23-year-old is the club's No. 4 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, and should be able to make his next scheduled start for the Brew Crew. If he isn't already rostered in your league, it's time to scoop him up off the waiver wire. The 6-foot-7, 197-pounder is easily one of the best pitching prospects in the game, with his fastball, curveball and slider all capable of generating plenty of swings and misses.--Keith HernandezSource: The Athletic - Katie Woo

Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop prospect Alex Freeland went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, double, and two additional runs scored on Thursday against Triple-A Albuquerque. Freeland was on base four times in this one as he tacked on two walks to stuff the box score. The 23-year-old has had an interesting month of June so far, as he is only hitting .171, but has more walks than strikeouts. His BABIP is just .143 for the month so far, and he is hitting the ball hard at 40.9 percent, so he has just been a bit unlucky. Freeland has good power and a sound approach and should be expected to be promoted to the majors at some point this summer. Depending on what his playing time looks like, he would be a solid speculative add in deeper formats.--Kyle McCarthySource: MiLB.com

Baltimore Orioles catcher prospect Samuel Basallo went 2-for-4 with a solo home run on Thursday against Triple-A Nashville. Basallo has gone ballistic in June, smashing five homers in seven games. He is hitting .333/.438/.889 in 32 plate appearances. The 20-year-old has an incredible combination of raw power and contact ability, and he's also improved his walk rate significantly this season. The top prospect leads Triple-A in barrel rate at 22.9 percent and doesn't have too much left to prove in the minors. With the Orioles' lineup getting healthier, Basallo may not be up in the near term, but maybe around the trade deadline is a fair target time. He would be a priority add in virtually all formats.--Kyle McCarthySource: MiLB.com

Chicago Cubs outfielder Seiya Suzuki cracked one of the club's two home runs in a 3-2 victory against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday. Suzuki went deep against left-hander Andrew Heaney in the bottom of the sixth inning for his 17th HR and 57th RBI of the season. He finished the evening 1-for-3 and is now slashing a strong .266/.325/.548 in 289 plate appearances. Suzuki averaged 20 homers and 73 RBI over the previous two seasons, but he's on pace to surpass those numbers with ease in 2025. The 30-year-old will face a difficult test Friday against Pirates star righty Paul Skenes. Suzuki is 3-for-11 with a homer, four strikeouts, and a walk against the ace.--Connor ByrneSource: ESPN
