It's Unclear Whether Josh Berry's 1.5-Mile Oval Speed Will Transfer to Michigan, but It Looks Likely
June 8, 2025
John Hunter Nemechek of Legacy Motor Club will start 21st for this week's FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway after qualifying. Nemechek's starting position is a new career-best at the site in the Cup Series. In three starts at Michigan, Nemechek's best finish is 23rd, which he scored from the August 2020 Cup event, and he did collect positive place differential twice. With 14 races completed this year, Nemechek has six top-20 finishes and an average finish of 19.4. In practice, Nemechek ranked 10th in overall lap averages and displayed top-10 speeds in almost all categories. With solid upside, favorable long run practice speeds, and plenty of cap flexibility, Nemechek is one of the better value options to consider for this week's race at Michigan.--Sean Engel - RotoBaller
