Hideki Matsuyama Struggling to Find Early Season Form
Hideki Matsuyama finished tied for 65th at last week's U.S. Open and will now focus on preparing for this week's Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut. Matsuyama started the season strongly with four straight top-25 finishes. Since then, he has recorded three top-25 finishes in 11 starts. He finished tied for 30th in the 2025 edition of the Travelers Championship and tied for 23rd in 2024. Over the past 12 months, Matsuyama ranks in the 83rd percentile in proximity to the hole on approach shots from 100-150 yards in the fairway. This is worth noting because over 31% of approach shots came from this distance at last year's Travelers Championship.
