Yordan Alvarez Slumping Since All-Star Break
3 years agoHouston Astros designated hitter Yordan Alvarez is hitting .167 over his last seven games heading into this weekend's series against the Twins Friday night. Alvarez is off to a quiet second half start, slashing .215/.278/.477 with 18 strikeouts over his last 65 at-bats. The young slugger may not be trending in the right direction at present, he will have favorable matchups playing at Minute Maid Park this weekend. Alvarez is slashing .299/.344/.497 at home this season and is slugging .533 against right-handed pitching. The Twins will send hard-throwing right-handed starter Bailey Ober to the mound Friday, raising Alvarez' value heading into the weekend.
