Colorado Rockies infield prospect Ethan Holliday has tallied in each of his first two professional games. The Rockies selected Holliday with the fourth overall pick in the year's MLB Draft out of Stillwater HS. The Rockies then sent their future top prospect to Low-A Fresno to close out his season. Through his first two games, Holliday has gone 3-for-8 at the plate with two doubles and a strikeout. He has also been hit by a pitch once. Entering the draft, Holliday was widely considered the top prospect in the class, especially on the hitting side. The 6-foot-5 infielder was credited for moving well despite his size and is known for having high power upside. MLB.com noted that the infielder has 35+ HR potential given his elite left-handed swing. He should be expected to spend most of his time at shortstop, but he has the arm to cover the hot corner. Dynasty managers should view him as a top pick in first-year player drafts. He should be in the mix to move up to High-A later in 2026.--Andy SmithRead More News
