Yoniel Curet Headed to Triple-A Durham
Yoniel Curet has been promoted to Triple-A Durham. The Rays' 15th-ranked prospect missed most of the season with a shoulder injury, but has pitched well since his return from the IL on July 3, recording a 1.12 ERA, 0.91 WHIP, and a 19.2 percent K-BB% in 18 2/3 innings pitched (five starts). He was coming off a 2024 season in which he posted similar results in 119 IP between High-A and Double-A, with his 159 strikeouts good for the 10th-most in all the minors last year. With his strikeout stuff and the fact he's on the 40-man roster, it's possible he joins the Rays late in the season if they're in position to make a run at the Wild Card, perhaps as a reliever rather than a starter, and if not, expect him to be in the big leagues at some point next year.
