Yankees Sign Jake Lamb To Minor-League Deal
1 year agoThe New York Yankees signed free-agent infielder/outfielder Jake Lamb to a minor-league deal on Friday and assigned him to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The 32-year-old left-handed hitter spent the first six-plus seasons of his career with the Arizona Diamondbacks, posting an .843 OPS with 59 homers from 2016-17. But injuries and poor performance led to his release in 2020. Since then, he's appeared in 127 big-league games for the A's, White Sox, Blue Jays, Dodgers, Mariners and Angels. He hit a solid .317 in 150 plate appearances for Triple-A Salt Lake this year but struggled with the Angels by hitting just .216 in 54 plate appearances. Lamb will strictly serve as infield and outfield depth in the minors for the Yankees for now.
