Wade Miley Agrees With Milwaukee
2 years agoThe Milwaukee Brewers agreed with free-agent left-hander Wade Miley on a one-year, $4.5 million contract on Wednesday, according to a source. Miley will have a chance to make $6 million through incentives. He'll be returning to the Brew Crew after spending the 2018 season with them, when he had a career-low 2.57 ERA and 1.21 WHIP in 80 2/3 innings covering 16 starts. Due to injuries, the 36-year-old southpaw only appeared in nine games (eight starts) for the Chicago Cubs in 2022, going 2-2 with a 3.16 ERA (3.95 FIP), 1.22 WHIP and 17.6 percent strikeout rate. With better health, he could work at the back end of Milwaukee's starting rotation as an innings-eater or in a long-relief role, but either way, he'll have limited fantasy upside as he nears the end of his career.
