Isaac Paredes to Return on Friday
Isaac Paredes (hamstring) is expected to be reinstated from the 60-day injured list before the series opener on Friday against the division-rival Seattle Mariners, a source told Brian McTaggart of MLB.com. It's perfect timing for the Astros to get Paredes back in a huge series that could ultimately decide the winner of the American League West this year. Paredes was hitting .259/.359/.470 with a team-high 19 home runs and 50 RBI in 94 games before suffering a strained hamstring on July 19 in Seattle. The Astros have not released their starting lineup for Friday's game against Mariners right-hander Bryan Woo, but Paredes should be back at third base for Houston while batting in the middle of their order. With Paredes back, Houston now will have the luxury of mixing and matching with Paredes and Carlos Correa between third and designated hitter.
