The Houston Texans signed tight end Eric Saubert off the Dallas Cowboys practice squad on Tuesday. Saubert played with the Cowboys in Week 8, playing just 14 special teams snaps. But since Houston is dealing with several injuries to its tight end group, they signed the 29-year-old for depth purposes. With Teagan Quitoriano (groin) placed on the injured reserve list and Brevin Jordan (foot) expected to miss some time, Saubert will likely backup starter Dalton Schultz.
