Tanner Houck To Make His Next Start On Sunday
Tanner Houck will make his next start on Sunday against the Atlanta Braves. MassLive's Chris Cotillo writes that there seems to be a little wiggle room for Houck, who has allowed double-digit runs in fewer than three innings in two separate outings already in 2025. The 28-year-old is at a loss for answers to why he's been so bad through his first nine starts of the season while sporting a nightmarish 8.04 ERA (6.13 FIP), a 1.69 WHIP, a league-high 57 hits allowed, a league-high 39 earned runs allowed and a league-high five hit by pitches after he was a first-time All-Star just last year. The Red Sox are going to give Houck at least another start to try to figure something out, and it will come against the offensively-challenged Braves. Even though it's a friendly matchup on paper, we'd suggest avoiding Houck right now.
