Seiya Suzuki Still Feeling Neck Issues
1 year agoChicago Cubs manager David Ross said that outfielder Seiya Suzuki (neck) is still feeling neck issues, which is why he wasn't included in the starting lineup on Monday for the series opener against the division-rival Milwaukee Brewers. However, Suzuki will be available to pinch hit. The 28-year-old Japanese outfielder missed three games last week but played on Saturday and Sunday against the Cleveland Guardians. He went 0-for-7 in those two games with two walks and still isn't 100 percent, but it doesn't sound like he's a candidate for the injured list just yet. Mike Tauchman is starting in right field and batting leadoff on Monday for the Cubbies against Brewers right-hander Julio Teheran. Tauchman is hitting only .211 (8-for-38) with a homer, seven RBI and 12 K's in his last nine games.
