Saquon Barkley To Have Surgery Next Week
4 years agoNew York Giants running back Saquon Barkley (knee) is scheduled to have ACL reconstruction surgery next week now that his MCL injury has had time to heal. Doctors are hopeful that he'll be ready for training camp next summer. Barkley suffered the season-ending injury in Week 2 and ruined a lot of fantasy managers' seasons in the process, as the star running back was taken second overall in the majority of fantasy drafts this fall. The third-year back suffered a high-ankle sprain in Week 3 of 2019 that caused him to miss a good chunk of games as well. His knee injury was much more severe obviously, so those drafting next year will be much more cautious when considering Barkley in the first round. Devonta Freeman (ankle) suffered an injury on Thursday night, meaning that Wayne Gallman could be this backfield's leader moving forward.
