Rockies Not Willing To Discuss Trades For Trevor Story
4 years agoThe Colorado Rockies haven't given any indication that they are willing to discuss shortstop Trevor Story in any trade proposals. This comes after they officially traded star third baseman Nolan Arenado to the Cardinals earlier this week. Story, who was ranked as MLB.com's top shortstop entering the 2021 season, is eligible to become a free agent after this year. It's likely that the Rockies will first attempt to sign the 28-year-old to a long-term extension, but it remains to be seen if Story will be open to that after just watching Arenado depart despite signing a long-term extension before the 2019 season. Staying in Colorado at hitter-friendly Coors Field would be best for Story's fantasy outlook, but his elite power/speed skills make him a late first-round selection in fantasy drafts regardless.
