Rangers Considering Acquiring Andrew McCutchen
1 year agoThe Texas Rangers have considered the possibility of acquiring Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Andrew McCutchen, but the Pirates aren't prepared to move him yet. The deal would have particular interest to the Rangers if at least one pitcher is part of the deal as well. The Rangers are seeking more production out of their designated-hitter spot, and the veteran McCutchen is having a fine season with a .271/.394/.431 slash line, an .825 OPS, nine home runs, nine doubles, 24 RBI, nine stolen bases and 34 runs scored in 277 plate appearances over 66 games in his return to Pittsburgh. The Bucs have gone on a skid of late, though, and could very well be sellers at the July trade deadline. The five-time All-Star could have even more fantasy appeal in the second half if he joins the first-place Rangers.
