Randal Grichuk Agrees To One-Year Deal With Diamondbacks
10 months agoFree-agent outfielder Randal Grichuk and the Arizona Diamondbacks agreed to a one-year, $2 million deal that includes a mutual option for the 2025 season on Saturday, according to sources. The deal will pay Grichuk $1.5 million in 2024, and the option is worth $6 million with a $500,000 buyout and performance bonuses included. At best, Grichuk will probably be a fourth-outfield type for the D-backs in 2024 and fill in for either Alek Thomas or Corbin Carroll to give them days off against left-handed pitching. The 32-year-old veteran hit .267/.321/.459 with 16 home runs, 44 RBI and 65 runs scored in 118 combined games last year with the Colorado Rockies and Los Angeles Angels. He hit over .300 in 64 games in Colorado but just .216 in 54 games with the Halos to close out the year.
