Pete Alonso Back From Injured List
1 year agoThe New York Mets reinstated first baseman Pete Alonso (wrist) from the 10-day injured list on Sunday and optioned infielder Mark Vientos to Triple-A Syracuse in a corresponding move. It's a nice surprise for Alonso's fantasy managers on Father's Day. The 28-year-old right-handed slugger is starting at first base and is hitting cleanup against St. Louis Cardinals left-hander Matthew Liberatore. Alonso is returning from a bone bruise and left-wrist sprain that landed him on the IL on June 8, but he missed the minimal time. Despite the missed time, he still leads the league with 22 home runs and also has 49 RBI and an .872 OPS in 62 games played. Fantasy managers will want to get Alonso back in their starting lineups in all leagues immediately.
