Panthers Now Favored To Take Bryce Young?
2 years agoThe Carolina Panthers are expected to take either Alabama quarterback Bryce Young or Ohio State QB C.J. Stroud with the first overall pick in this year's draft, according to sources. Stroud was considered the early favorite because of his size (6-foot-3 compared to 5-foot-10 for Young) and because head coach Frank Reich has never coached a starting QB under 6-foot-2. But Reich has insisted height isn't a factor, and the pendulum seems to be swinging toward Young at No. 1 overall. Florida's Anthony Richardson and Kentucky's Will Levis aren't considered serious considerations for Carolina's No. 1 overall selection. Whoever the Panthers take with the first pick is expected to start in Week 1, even though the team added veteran Andy Dalton in free agency.
