Ben Griffin finished tied for ninth at last week's FedEx St. Jude Championship and will now focus on preparing for this week's BMW Championship at Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, Maryland. So far this season, Griffin has two wins, 11 top-25 finishes and missed the cut six times in 26 starts. Over the past 12 months, Griffin ranks in the 90th percentile in greens in regulation percentage on approach shots from over 200 yards in the fairway. This is significant because Caves Valley is over 7,600 yards in distance.--Ian Christenson - RotoBallerSource: Data Golf

Tommy Fleetwood finished tied for third at last week's FedEx St. Jude Championship and will now focus on preparing for this week's BMW Championship at Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, Maryland. Fleetwood has 14 top-25 finishes and missed the cut once in 18 starts. Over the past 12 months, Fleetwood ranks in the 68th percentile in greens in regulation percentage on approach shots from over 200 yards in the fairway. This is important because Caves Valley plays over 7,600 yards in length.--Ian Christenson - RotoBallerSource: Data Golf

Ludvig Aberg finished tied for ninth at last week's FedEx St. Jude Championship and will now focus on preparing for this week's BMW Championship at Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, Maryland. Aberg has one win, eight top-25 finishes and missed the cut four times in 18 starts. Over the past 12 months, Aberg ranks in the 58th percentile in greens in regulation percentage on approach shots from over 200 yards in the fairway. This is worth pointing out because Caves Valley is over 7,600 yards in distance.--Ian Christenson - RotoBallerSource: Data Golf

Indianapolis Colts head coach Shane Steichen said that the team's starters will play "about a quarter" in the second preseason game this Saturday against the Green Bay Packers. All eyes will be on the ongoing quarterback competition between Daniel Jones and Anthony Richardson Sr. Jones will start Saturday's game, but Richardson will take the majority of the first-half reps. Receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (groin) didn't play in the preseason opener, and neither did running back Jonathan Taylor, but both should get back on the field for their first preseason action of the year this weekend. Both Pittman and Taylor will probably only see a few series with Jones this Saturday if they end up being active. Taylor will once again be the Colts' unquestioned RB1 in 2025, with Khalil Herbert and rookie DJ Giddens battling for backup duties.--Keith HernandezSource: Colts.com - Amanda Foster

Houston Texans tight end Brevin Jordan (knee) had to be carted off the field at training camp practice on Monday with a knee injury, according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Sports. Jordan was in an extreme amount of pain and had the rest of the team huddled around him. The 25-year-old came back from a torn ACL last year that limited him to just two games, so this would be a brutal blow for him if he suffered another serious knee injury just before the start of the 2025 campaign. There should be an update provided on Jordan either late on Monday or Tuesday morning. If he's out for an extended period of time, Cade Stover and Irv Smith Jr. will have a better chance of earning backup duties for the Texans this year behind starter Dalton Schultz.--Keith HernandezSource: KPRC 2 Sports - Aaron Wilson

Detroit Lions rookie wide receiver Isaac TeSlaa "has been turning heads in camp and is working his way into a role within the offense," according to Jordan Schultz of FOX Sports. The Lions love "his all-out effort every snap, his strong hands/ability at the catch point, and the way his blocking in the run game stands out," which is important for head coach Dan Campbell. Schultz thinks TeSlaa is a player to watch this year, especially after the Lions made a bold move to trade up to grab him in the third round in this year's NFL draft. The 6-foot-4, 214-pounder has 57 receiving yards and a touchdown in two preseason games working with backup quarterback Kyle Allen, and if he continues to produce, he could factor into the WR3 role alongside Tim Patrick this year. TeSlaa's college production didn't stand out, but he has the size and athleticism to make some noise.--Keith HernandezSource: FOX Sports - Jordan Schultz

Detroit Tigers outfielder Wenceel Perez (foot) is starting in right field and batting third in the order for Monday's series opener on the road against the division-rival Chicago White Sox and right-handed opener Elvis Peguero. Perez fouled a ball off his right foot in the loss to the Los Angeles Angels on Saturday and was held out of Sunday's series finale. The 25-year-old switch-hitting Dominican outfielder will hope to keep up what has been a strong start to the month, has he's gone 10-for-24 (.417) with two home runs, a triple, three RBI, four runs scored and a steal in eight games. Overall, he's hitting .267 (52-for-195) with nine long balls, 25 RBI, 33 runs scored and six stolen bases in 58 games in just his second season in the big leagues. Perez should be considered a deep DFS sleeper in his return to the lineup on Monday.--Keith HernandezSource: MLB.com

Kansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. (back) is starting at shortstop and is batting second on Monday against the visiting Washington Nationals and right-hander Cade Cavalli in the series opener. Witt dealt with back stiffness over the weekend and sat out of Sunday's series finale against the Minnesota Twins. The 25-year-old All-Star was up in the air to play on Monday, but he's in there and needs to be in all starting fantasy lineups. He snapped a short hitting streak with a hitless performance on Saturday, and he's hitting .226 (7-for-31) with two home runs, a triple, five RBI and two steals in eight games in the month of August. The former first-rounder can do it all on the diamond and contribute in all fantasy categories. He's currently slashing .284/.340/.493 with an .833 OPS, 17 homers, 65 RBI, 71 runs and 30 steals.--Keith HernandezSource: MLB.com

Washington Nationals second baseman Luis Garcia Jr. (back) is starting at second base and will hit eighth in Monday's series opener against the hosting Kansas City Royals and left-hander Bailey Falter. Garcia will be back in there in KC after he missed the last three contests due to back tightness. The 25-year-old hasn't been as productive this year as he was in 2024, when he hit a career-best .282 with 18 home runs, 70 RBI and 22 stolen bases in 140 games played. In his sixth MLB campaign, he's slashing .263/.302/.399 with only nine homers, 50 RBI, 49 runs and nine stolen bases in 101 games played. In five games so far in August, Garcia has six hits in 21 plate appearances with three RBI and three runs scored. Garcia has faced Falter eight times in his career and is hitting .250.--Keith HernandezSource: MLB.com

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan hasn't thought about it much, but said that wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk (knee) might return in Week 6. General manager John Lynch already said that he didn't think Aiyuk would be ready for Week 1 of the regular season in early September, but now it looks like the 27-year-old pass-catcher will be out much longer after tearing both his MCL and ACL in his right knee last October. Aiyuk is expected to begin the season on the Physically Unable to Perform list, which will require him to miss at least the first four games. He has not practiced with the team at all this year. Obviously, this is a big hit to Aiyuk's 2025 fantasy value. Aiyuk is stash-worthy in fantasy leagues that have designated Injured Reserve spots. In Aiyuk's absence, both Jauan Jennings (calf) and Ricky Pearsall stand to benefit as key members of the passing attack.--Keith HernandezSource: The Athletic - Vic Tafur

The Boston Celtics waived forward Miles Norris on Sunday. Norris was released from his two-way contract to make room for RJ Luis Jr., who was acquired on Tuesday. He spent 2024-25 in the G League, playing in over 44 games between the Maine Celtics and Memphis Hustle. The 25-year-old averaged 16.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 1.0 steals across 30.5 minutes per contest during his appearances. With just three career NBA games under his belt, Norris will hope to land a contract elsewhere before training camp this fall.--Andrew LennoxSource: Boston Celtics

Philadelphia Eagles Pro Bowl offensive guard Landon Dickerson (knee), who suffered a meniscus injury on Sunday night, will have minor knee surgery in the coming days and is considered week-to-week, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Rapoport adds that the team's goal is to have him available for Week 1 of the regular season on Sept. 4 against the division-rival Dallas Cowboys. It's ultimately positive news for Philly's offensive line, although the 26-year-old may still not be ready for the start of the regular season as the Eagles begin their Super Bowl defense. The Eagles also lost Kenyon Green (shoulder) to an injury during the preseason opener last Thursday against the Cincinnati Bengals, so it's possible that Matt Pryor or rookie Trevor Keegan get pushed into a starting role come Week 1.--Keith HernandezSource: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Dallas Cowboys head coach Brian Callahan said that running backs Jaydon Blue (heel) and Miles Sanders (knee) should see some "significant progress" this week and could play in the team's second preseason game this Saturday versus the Baltimore Ravens. Neither Blue nor Sanders played in the preseason opener on Saturday against the Los Angeles Rams. Blue suffered a bone bruise in his heel in practice last Thursday, while Sanders has been battling a knee injury. Javonte Williams remains the favorite to be the lead back for Dallas early in the 2025 season, but both Sanders and Blue should be involved to an extent as well. Blue, a fifth-rounder in April, has been the most explosive and impressive during training camp, but the 21-year-old will most likely enter the regular season as the team's RB3. Blue is worth an RB4/flex flier late in PPR drafts.--Keith HernandezSource: Dallas Morning News - Joseph Hoyt

Houston Texans running back Nick Chubb (head) is back at Monday's training camp practice in a red non-contact jersey, according to Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle. Chubb went through the league's concussion protocol after taking a hard hit in practice last Tuesday, but he's apparently cleared the protocols and is back on the field this week. It's possible that the 29-year-old will be active for the team's second preseason game this Saturday against the Carolina Panthers, although the Texans could exercise caution when considering their backfield is already beat up. Starter Joe Mixon (ankle, foot) remains on the Physically Unable to Perform list and could be in danger of missing Week 1. Chubb did not look like a four-time Pro Bowler in his final season with the Browns following a devastating 2023 knee injury. At best, he's a WR4/5 flier for those that roster Mixon.--Keith HernandezSource: Houston Chronicle - Jonathan M. Alexander

According to ESPN's Shams Charania, the Detroit Pistons signed forward Javonte Green to a one-year deal on Monday. Last campaign, Green saw action in 50 regular-season games with the Pelicans and 18 with the Cavaliers. He averaged 5.1 points, 3.2 rebounds, 0.8 assists, 0.5 blocks and 1.0 steals across 18.5 minutes per contest. The 32-year-old could find himself out of the Pistons' rotation at times, having to compete with Jaden Ivey,  Ausar Thompson, Duncan Robinson, Ronald Holland II and Caris LeVert for minutes.--Andrew LennoxSource: Shams Charania

ESPN's NFL insider Adam Schefter reports that Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman Landon Dickerson (knee) is thought to have suffered a meniscus injury to his right knee. Philadelphia is currently looking at other options to determine the severity of the injury and the team's next course of action. Uh oh. The No. 37 overall selection of the 2021 NFL Draft has started 17, 16, and 16 games for the Eagles across the prior three seasons, and is one of just five guards selected to the Pro Bowl in each of those campaigns. Teammate Brett Toth has worked in the 26-year-old's stead this summer when he was a limited participant, so he appears to be the most optimal replacement at this time. We'll likely get an update on him over the coming days, but any time missed by Dickerson would be a massive blow to the Eagles' offensive line.--Alex CiullaSource: Adam Schefter

New York Yankees right-hander Gerrit Cole (elbow) started his throwing program on Monday with around 20 pitches on flat ground, according to Meredith Marakovits of YES Network. It's a big milestone for Cole, who had reconstructive surgery on his right UCL back in March. The 34-year-old veteran will still miss the entire 2025 season, and it's not guaranteed that he'll be ready for Opening Day in 2026. Cole was dominant with a 2.63 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 222 strikeouts in 33 starts for the Yankees in 2023 as the American League Cy Young winner, but this is his second straight injured season after he made only 17 starts in 2024. He will still be relevant in all fantasy leagues next year as a high-end starter, but it's fair to wonder now whether Cole won't be as dominant as he nears the back nine of his MLB career.--Keith HernandezSource: Yes Network - Meredith Marakovits

Cincinnati Reds manager Terry Francona said the team met with rookie right-hander Chase Burns on Monday, and while there is no set finalized plan due to moving pieces in the starting rotation, there will be an innings limit for the young hurler. The Reds might have to get creative because the team really wants him to keep pitching without being shut down for the season. Between the majors and minors this year, the hard-throwing 22-year-old has thrown 100 1/3 innings after throwing exactly 100 a year ago in his final collegiate season. It's unclear if Burns will make his next scheduled start on Friday in a tough matchup against the first-place Milwaukee Brewers. At the very least, Burns is in danger of being booted from the rotation after Friday's start with Hunter Greene (groin) and Nick Lodolo (finger) both potentially returning soon.--Keith HernandezSource: The Cincinnati Enquirer - Charlie Goldsmith

Carolina Panthers head coach Dave Canales told reporters on Monday that wide receiver Jalen Coker has been "one of the more reliable" targets for quarterback Bryce Young thus far. Specifically, Canales was asked if the second-year wideout is on the roster bubble, to which he replied, "We're gonna play the best guys." Canales added that "if he keeps showing up the way he has, he's going to be on the field playing." The 23-year-old isn't slotted in with the starting group of wide receivers on Carolina's unofficial depth chart, although it's possible that changes. Despite Coker's standing on paper, teammate Adam Thielen is nearing the end of his career, and Xavier Legette still has to show improvement. It isn't unreasonable to think Coker will have an expanded role in 2025, especially after flashing last season. Still, he'll have to leapfrog one of his aforementioned teammates in the hierarchy.--Alex CiullaSource: Sheena Quick

Andy Herman of 105.7 The Fan, Milwaukee, notes that Green Bay Packers wide receiver Matthew Golden made a few highlight receptions in Monday's practice, catching difficult passes "with ease." The former Texas Longhorn has garnered a good amount of praise during the lead-up to the regular season, and the news of fellow wideout Jayden Reed's (foot) injury makes this wide receiver room that much more up for grabs. The rookie offers Green Bay an explosive, field-flipping element they've desired for some time now. If he can seize his opportunity early on, Golden should be in store for a useful fantasy season. He's going just inside the top 100 currently in drafts, slotted directly in front of Reed at No. 98 in overall ADP. That disparity will grow if the latter's ailment lingers.--Alex CiullaSource: Andy Herman

Jacksonville Jaguars rookie running back Bhayshul Tuten got "a lot of run" with quarterback Trevor Lawrence and the first-string offense during Monday's practice, according to ESPN Radio's Mia O'Brien. O'Brien also reports that head coach Liam Coen was "very complimentary" of the 23-year-old's running in their preseason loss to the Steelers. Tuten was the third (and final) Jaguars running back to receive a touch in that one, but tied backfield mate Tank Bigsby for the team lead in carries (six), yards (24), and scored their lone rushing touchdown. By the looks of it, Travis Etienne Jr. is still the top dog here, with Tuten and Bigsby vying for touches behind him. However, Bigsby outproduced Etienne Jr. in 2024, and this room feels more open for the taking than initially anticipated. Jacksonville's final two preseason games should shed some more light on how this backfield will operate come the regular season.--Alex CiullaSource: Mia O'Brien

Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay told reporters that quarterback Matthew Stafford (back) did not practice on Monday because he didn't feel well enough leading up to the session. McVay also noted that the team will be "flexible and fluid" with the situation surrounding their franchise cornerstone, erring on the side of caution instead of rushing him back. It's a concerning development, but it's the correct play for LA if Stafford isn't fully healthy. The 37-year-old should be ready to go come the start of the regular season. However, for the time being, fantasy managers should be vigilant in considering which draft slot they select Rams' skill players. Any missed time by Stafford would dent the value of running back Kyren Williams and wide receivers Davante Adams and Puka Nacua.--Alex CiullaSource: Stu Jackson

Pittsburgh Pirates first base/outfield prospect Billy Cook (hand) was placed on the Triple-A 7-day injured list on Sunday with a hand injury. The Pirates' 21st-ranked prospect was hit in the hand by a pitch on August 3 and hasn't played in a game since then, although the youngster recently indicated that the hand felt fine, so it could be a minimum stay on the IL. The 26-year-old is slashing .248/.323/.384 with eight home runs and 13 stolen bases in 94 games for the Indians. The right-handed hitter has even seen time in the majors last year and this year, going 13-for-55 (.236) with three home runs, eight RBI, six runs scored, and a stolen base in 19 games played. The power and speed are there, but a 27.0 percent career strikeout rate in the minors probably limits his upside.--Jarod RuppSource: Colin Beazley - Pittsburgh Post Gazette

St. Louis Cardinals infielder/outfielder Brendan Donovan (groin) remains sidelined for Monday's series opener against the visiting Colorado Rockies at Busch Stadium. Thomas Saggese will make another start at second base and will hit seventh against Rockies rookie right-hander Chase Dollander. Left-groin tightness will keep Donovan out of a third straight game, and he could be headed for the injured list if he's unable to return in the next couple of days. Saggese profiles as a low-upside DFS sleeper, even against a rookie pitcher that has struggled so far in his time in the big leagues. Saggese has hit .241 (28-for-116) with only one home run, 10 RBI and nine runs scored in 40 games played this year after making his MLB debut in 2024. The 23-year-old has gone 8-for-30 (.267) with three doubles and three runs in 12 games since the All-Star break.--Keith HernandezSource: MLB.com

Pittsburgh Pirates pitching prospect Thomas Harrington (undisclosed) has been placed on the Triple-A 7-day injured list with an undisclosed injury. The Pirates' fifth-ranked prospect made a start for Indianapolis on August 8 and left in the fifth inning with the trainer, but no diagnosis has been provided. The former 36th-overall draft pick had put up solid numbers in the minors prior to this year, but has recorded an ugly 5.40 ERA, 1.33 WHIP, and a 13.6 percent K-BB% through 19 starts (95 innings pitched) at Triple-A this year. The righty even received three appearances in the majors, one as recently as August 1, but with even less success, allowing 15 earned runs on 18 hits and seven walks while striking out seven in 8 2/3 innings pitched. Hopefully the injury is nothing serious, but he likely won't get a chance in the majors again this season.--Jarod RuppSource: Colin Beazley - Pittsburgh Post Gazette

Baltimore Orioles pitching prospect Michael Forret has earned a promotion to Double-A Chesapeake after showing well at High-A for the entirety of 2025. In 15 starts (16 appearances), the Orioles' seventh-ranked prospect posted a 1.51 ERA, a 0.80 WHIP, and an elite 26.0 percent K-BB% with 76 strikeouts in 59 2/3 innings pitched. It's a marked improvement over the 4.35 ERA that the 21-year-old posted last year, and the walk rate improved to 7.5 percent from 10.9 percent. If he can continue to show well at the next level, he could be knocking on the door to the majors at some point later next year, although he isn't a dynasty stash at this point.--Jarod RuppSource: Andy Kostka

Kansas City Royals right-hander Michael Lorenzen (oblique) made his second minor-league rehab start on Sunday for Double-A Northwest Arkansas and allowed three earned runs on seven hits while walking three and striking out four in 5 2/3 innings of work. It was Lorenzen's second rehab start, and the fact he almost went six innings in this one means that his next start could come back in the big leagues for the Royals. The 33-year-old won't be a popular waiver-wire pickup in mixed leagues, though, as he had gone 5-8 with a 4.61 ERA (4.55 FIP) and 1.30 WHIP with 85 strikeouts and 29 walks in 99 2/3 innings pitched over his 18 starts before his injury. Lorenzen will probably have a rotation spot waiting for him in KC when he's activated from the injured list, but his low strikeout rate gives him a pretty low fantasy ceiling and floor the rest of 2025.--Keith HernandezSource: Milb.com

Baltimore Orioles outfield prospect Nate George is getting promoted to High-A Aberdeen following an impressive showing over his first 66 games of the season. The 2024 draft pick hit .383 in 23 games with the Orioles' complex level affiliate, then hit .337 in 43 games at Single-A Delmarva. In all, the 19-year-old put together a .352/.423/.512 slash line with four home runs and 38 steals across both levels. With a low 15.5 percent strikeout rate, he'll get a chance to test his mettle against High-A pitching, and could push for a promotion to the upper levels of the minors next year if he continues to put the bat on the ball like he's done so far in 2025, but he's still a few years away from the majors.--Jarod RuppSource: Andy Kostka

Anthony Hernandez extended his win streak to eight by defeating Roman Dolidze by fourth-round rear-naked-choke submission in the main event of UFC Vegas 109. Hernandez was dominant from the beginning to the end of the fight. His clinchwork, ground and pound and most importantly, his grappling were on point tonight as Hernandez outclassed Dolidze. In the fourth round, Hernandez hurt Dolidze and was about to finish him via TKO, but then he sank in a rear-naked-choke submission that forced Dolidze to tap out. In 17:45 of action, Hernandez landed nine takedowns and 36 significant strikes. With the win, Hernandez improved to 15-2 and is now 9-2 in the UFC.--Alen KurbasicSource: UFC
