Jaxson Dart May See Another Appearance This Weekend
Jaxson Dart remains a non-factor in fantasy football for Week 3, despite the coaching staff's continued interest in using him. Head Coach Brian Daboll has a specific package for Dart and used him on three running plays against Dallas, even in a close game, though Dart's lone carry resulted in a loss of yardage. While this willingness to deploy the rookie keeps him on the dynasty radar, his minimal snap count means his fantasy impact is nonexistent for now, regardless of the opponent. With Russell Wilson firmly entrenched as the starter, Dart is purely a gadget player who should not be rostered in any standard fantasy leagues.

Cameron Ward Should be Benched in All Leagues Sunday
Cameron Ward remains off the fantasy radar in redraft leagues ahead of Week 3 against the Indianapolis Colts. Ward has experienced plenty of growing pains through his first two NFL games, completing just 50.8 percent of his passes for a total of 287 yards, one touchdown, and two lost fumbles. He has also taken 11 sacks while rushing for just eight yards. This week, Ward takes on the Colts, who have been playing surprisingly well on both sides of the ball. Indianapolis has forced four turnovers so far this year and could have a field day against this year's No. 1 pick. Ward ranks outside the top 24 fantasy quarterbacks this week, and while he should continue to be stashed in dynasty leagues, he can be left on waivers in all redraft formats.

Sam Darnold Could be on Streaming Radar in Week 3
Sam Darnold is a potential streamer in Week 3 when Seattle hosts the New Orleans Saints. He is coming off a 17.8-point fantasy outing in Week 2. Darnold struggled in Week 1, but he shook off the jitters in Week 2 and threw for 295 yards and two touchdowns. As he continues to grow more comfortable in Seattle's offense, Darnold should be a solid matchup play. The Saints have allowed Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray and San Francisco 49ers quarterback Mac Jones to have QB1-level games in the first two weeks of the season. That type of production can be expected of Darnold against a Saints defense that has been solid but not spectacular thus far this season. Many forget that Darnold was a legitimate QB1 in 2024 with the Minnesota Vikings. He is stepping into an offense with a lot of new pieces and a new offensive coordinator. It is only a matter of time before the production begins to flow.

Russell Wilson Looking For First Win In 2025
Russell Wilson enters Week 3 with a strong outlook as he prepares to face the Kansas City Chiefs at home. After a slow start in Week 1, Wilson's explosive 450-yard, three-touchdown game against Dallas has vaulted him to the QB7 overall, averaging an impressive 23.8 fantasy points per game. The Chiefs' defense presents a beatable matchup. At the same time, they limit yardage, they have already surrendered three passing touchdowns, and have a below-average red zone defense that allows scores on 66.7% of opponent trips. Kansas City's vulnerability is confirmed by their fantasy ranking, where they sit 25th against the position by allowing 19.73 points per game against QBs, cementing Wilson as a possible fantasy start for the upcoming week.

Spencer Rattler Efficient in Week 2, Emerging as QB2 Option
Spencer Rattler showed noticeable improvement in efficiency in Week 2 against the 49ers, completing 25 of 34 passes for 207 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions. The three touchdown passes marked a career high for Rattler, who, for the second week in a row, had a chance at a game-winning drive but ultimately fell short. He has also flashed some scrambling ability, rushing eight times for 43 yards through two weeks. The game script will likely force the Saints to keep throwing at a high rate, and as long as Rattler avoids turnovers, he's shaping up as a QB2/Superflex option.

Geno Smith Set for Rebound Opportunity vs. Commanders
Geno Smith enters Week 3 with a strong opportunity to rebound against a Washington Commanders defense that has struggled to generate pressure. Washington has managed just four sacks through two games while ranking middle of the pack in most categories -- 15th in total yards allowed, 18th against the pass (213 yards per game), and 14th versus the run (104.5). The Raiders' offensive line also gets a boost with right guard Jackson Powers-Johnson practicing fully on Thursday and Friday, returning the unit to full strength. That added protection should give Smith more time to push the ball downfield, taking advantage of favorable matchups. On the injury front, tight end Brock Bowers has logged limited practices all week but appears healthier after managing only a late-week session before his last game. Smith remains a solid QB2 option in superflex formats.

Bo Nix Not the Safest Option in Week 3
Bo Nix has had a mediocre 2025 campaign thus far. He began the season by throwing for 176 yards, one touchdown, and two picks off 25-for-40 passing in the win over the Titans in Week 1. The signal-caller followed up that performance by tossing 206 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception in the loss to the Indianapolis Colts. With the Broncos sitting at 1-1, the team will look to get back in the win column versus the Chargers. Los Angeles enters Week 3 without a loss. The Chargers limited Patrick Mahomes to only one touchdown toss in Brazil before forcing Geno Smith to throw three interceptions on Monday night. With an efficient Chargers defense on tap, fantasy managers may want to consider keeping Nix out of the lineup on Sunday, at least for those participating in single-QB leagues. On the other hand, the 25-year-old can be viewed as a starting fantasy option in SuperFlex formats, especially with so many injuries around the league at the quarterback position heading into Week 3.

Patrick Mahomes Off Injury Report, Ready To Take On Giants
Patrick Mahomes found himself on the injury report with a right wrist injury, but practiced in full all week and has been removed from the report. Mahomes failed to eclipse 200 passing yards in last week's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, but he was still able to salvage his fantasy day on the ground. The Chiefs star has rushed for at least 57 yards and a touchdown in each game to open the season, making him a top-five quarterback and the leading rusher on his team. The Chiefs have opened the season 0-2 for the first time in the Mahomes era and suddenly find themselves at the bottom of the AFC West. The 30-year-old celebrated his birthday on Wednesday and will try to pick up a birthday win on Sunday against the New York Giants. The Giants have been a juicy matchup for quarterbacks to begin the season, as shown by their shootout with the Dallas Cowboys last week. With Xavier Worthy potentially available for the contest, this could be a get-right game for the Kansas City offense as a whole and Mahomes could find more success through the air. Mahomes is ranked QB5 in our RotoBaller rankings this week, making him a strong start at the position.

Kyler Murray a Low-End QB1 Against 49ers
Kyler Murray has been his usual inconsistent self to start the season. In Week 1 against the New Orleans Saints, he finished just outside of QB1 territory, and then he dropped even further against a weaker defense in the Carolina Panthers in Week 2. The good news, for Cardinals fans, is that he's played well enough to grab two wins at least. For fantasy purposes, he can be quite the frustrating option. Once again, he remains around the low-end QB1 and high-end QB2 area, mainly due to his scrambling ability. The San Francisco 49ers are dealing with a slew of injuries on offense, but their defense currently ranks sixth against the pass. It's hard to tell how the game script will play out, but Murray should be able to deliver as long as it isn't a ground game palooza.

Jalen Hurts Looking to Bounce Back Against Rams
Jalen Hurts didn't dazzle fantasy managers last week with his 116 total yards and one touchdown, but he looks to bounce back against the undefeated Rams this Sunday. Los Angeles does pose a challenge to the Philly QB, however, standing as the fourth-best passing defense so far this season by allowing just 147 yards per game through the air. When these teams met last November, Hurts only managed 179 yards and a touchdown along with 39 yards running. While the evidence may point to an uphill battle this week, Hurts' track record as an elite fantasy QB and the Eagles' home-field advantage still land him a QB1 spot.

Baker Mayfield Remains in QB1 Mix for Week 3
Baker Mayfield (toe, foot) has been cleared to suit up for the Week 3 matchup against the New York Jets. The Bucs offensive line has been banged up, but that hasn't stopped Mayfield from making an impact on the field. So far this season, Mayfield has thrown for 382 yards with five touchdowns and zero interceptions in two games. He'll now head into a matchup against a Jets defense that had no answers for the Buffalo Bills last week. As already mentioned, the Bucs are banged up on the o-line, but also at wide receiver as well. This offense will be without Chris Godwin (ankle), Jalen McMillan (neck), and Emeka Egbuka (hip, groin) is questionable to play. That being said, Mayfield could see his value drop if Egbuka is unable to suit up. For now, fantasy managers should keep Mayfield in the QB1 mix for this game.

C.J. Stroud Only a Fringe QB2 Against the Jaguars
C.J. Stroud will look to get his team their first win of the season in Week 3 as they visit the Jaguars on Sunday afternoon. Last Monday, Stroud completed 13-of-24 passes for 207 yards and a touchdown in the Texans' one-point loss to the Bucs. Stroud's touchdown pass came to Nico Collins on the first drive of the game, but the team struggled to move the ball after that. Stroud's main challenges have been the lack of protection from the patchwork offensive line and a lack of depth at wide receiver behind Collins. Maybe with Christian Kirk (hamstring) back in the rotation, Stroud can get rolling against the Jags, who rank in the middle of the pack against quarterbacks so far this season. RotoBaller has Stroud as the QB22 in this matchup due to his offense's struggles, which limits him to a low-end QB2 option in two-QB leagues.

Aaron Rodgers Difficult to Trust in Week 3
Aaron Rodgers came back to Earth in Week 2 after a dazzling season opener and will look to get back on track against the New England Patriots in Week 3. On paper, this is a favorable matchup as the Patriots surrendered the most passing yards in the NFL through the first two weeks. New England has been without star cornerback Christian Gonzalez (hamstring), who returned to practice in a limited capacity this week and could impact the fantasy outlook of Rodgers and his pass-catchers if active. Regardless, Rodgers is still working to get Pittsburgh's offense in rhythm and remains off the fantasy radar in single-QB formats. He projects to be a middling option in superflex leagues with some upside as a QB2, especially if Gonzalez misses a third straight game.

Carson Wentz Off Starting Radar In First Vikings Start
Carson Wentz should remain off the fantasy radar in Week 3 against Cincinnati. The veteran is filling in for starter J.J. McCarthy and certainly has the experience to handle the offense, but the bigger concern is an offensive line that currently leads the NFL in sack percentage and could be in dire straits come Sunday. If starter Christian Darrisaw (knee) is not ready to return from his ACL rehab against the Bengals, the Vikings' projected left tackle, left guard, and center will go into the game with a combined two NFL starts. In what is already expected to be a low-scoring game, starting Wentz is an unnecessary risk, even in Superflex leagues.

Joe Flacco Looking to Overcome Slow Start in Week 3
Joe Flacco has struggled over the first two games of the 2025 season, completing 56 of his 90 pass attempts for 489 yards, two touchdowns, and three interceptions. He might have a tough time getting untracked against a red-hot Green Bay Packers defense at home in Week 3. The Packers have been dominant on defense thus far, allowing just the 23rd-most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks through two games. Flacco has not played well and can't be trusted as anything more than a mid-range QB3 heading into Week 3.
