Miles Sanders Absent From Practice Thursday
3 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders (ankle) missed his second straight day of practice on Thursday and doesn't appear likely to play in Week 8 against the Detroit Lions. Sanders was carted off the field with a low ankle sprain in last week's loss to the Las Vegas Raiders and is week-to-week. With the 24-year-old likely to miss at least one game, rookie Kenneth Gainwell and Boston Scott should split the backfield work this Sunday against the winless Lions in an excellent matchup. Jordan Howard could also join the active roster and be used in short-yardage situations. In PPR setups, Gainwell is your best bet as an RB2/3 if Sanders is inactive. Scott is likely to be the team's early down back and will be a touchdown-dependent RB3/flex.
