Mike Trout Lands On Injured List, Out 4-8 Weeks
1 year agoLos Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout (wrist) is headed to the 10-day injured list on Tuesday after suffering a left-hamate fracture while fouling a ball off in Monday night's loss to the San Diego Padres. Hamate fractures typically take anywhere from four to eight weeks to recover from, so Trout is going to be out for a while. It's a big blow to the Angels and Trout's fantasy managers. The 31-year-old 11-time All-Star will head to the shelf hitting .263 (80-for-304) with 18 home runs, 14 doubles, a triple, 44 RBI and 54 runs scored in 81 games played, and this is the type of injury that could affect him at the plate the rest of the season when he does return. Mickey Moniak and Taylor Ward should both see more playing time in the outfield in Anaheim with Trout out for the foreseeable future.
