Mike Clevinger To Start Game 1 Of NLDS Against Dodgers
Mike Clevinger (illness) will get the nod in Game 1 of the National League Division Series on Tuesday against the division-rival Los Angeles Dodgers. Clevinger was placed on the COVID injured list last week, but he traveled with the team for the Wild-Card Series in New York and will be fine to kick off the NLDS on Tuesday on the road. The 31-year-old had a rough end to his 2022 season and finished the year 7-7 with a 4.33 ERA (4.98 FIP) with a 1.19 WHIP and a 91:35 K:BB in 114 1/3 innings pitched. He was even worse in three starts against the Dodgers, surrendering 14 earned runs on 16 hits (five homers allowed) while walking four and striking out 11 in 13 innings.
