Mike Clevinger Not On Wild-Card Roster
2 years agoSan Diego Padres starting pitcher Mike Clevinger (illness) was left off the team's roster for the Wild-Card Series this weekend against the New York Mets. Clevinger was placed on the injured list earlier this week with a non-COVID-related illness, but he should be available to return to San Diego's starting rotation if they advance to the National League Division Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The 31-year-old right-hander finished the regular season with a 4.33 ERA, and he had a 6.52 ERA with eight walks, 18 strikeouts and eight home runs allowed in his final six starts, so it's not a huge surprise he was left off the Wild-Card Series roster. The Friars will go with Yu Darvish in Game 1, Blake Snell in Game 2 and Joe Musgrove in a possible Game 3 in New York.
