Michael Soroka Throws Seven-Inning Complete Game
1 year agoAtlanta Braves right-hander Michael Soroka allowed one run on just one hit while walking two and striking out a season-high nine hitters in a seven-inning complete game for Triple-A Gwinnett on Thursday in Game 2 of a doubleheader. The 25-year-old had a no-hitter going until he allowed a solo homer in the seventh and final frame. Soroka didn't look good in two starts in his return to the big leagues this year, but since being sent back down to Gwinnett, he has gone 2-0 with a 1.42 ERA, a .109 batting average against and 18 strikeouts in 19 innings pitched in three starts. If he continues to pitch well on the farm, Soroka should get another chance in Atlanta's rotation in the second half of the season.
