Michael Soroka Optioned To Triple-A
2 years agoThe Atlanta Braves optioned right-hander Michael Soroka to Triple-A Gwinnett on Monday. The team also claimed infielder Lucas Williams off waivers from the Los Angeles Dodgers and optioned him to Gwinnett and moved left-hander Max Fried (forearm) to the 60-day injured to open up room on the 40-man roster. After having not made a start in the big leagues since 2020 due to injuries, Soroka was called up on May 28 and proceeded to allow nine runs on 12 hits (three homers given up) while walking six and striking out five in two starts (9 2/3 innings) against the A's and Diamondbacks. It was a disappointing return for the 25-year-old, but it doesn't mean that he won't be back in Atlanta's rotation at some point this year.
