Masataka Yoshida Scratched From Wednesday's Lineup
2 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder Masataka Yoshida (hamstring) was scratched from the team's starting lineup on Wednesday against the undefeated Tampa Bay Rays due to right hamstring soreness. The Red Sox are taking a cautious approach with the 29-year-old rookie early in the season, so fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now. He's off to a bit of a slow start in his first 10 major-league games, going 8-for-37 (.216) with a double, one home run, six RBI, two stolen bases and eight runs scored. However, he's walked seven times and struck out only thrice. When healthy, Yoshida should be a strong source of on-base percentage. Raimel Tapia is starting in left field on Wednesday and hitting fifth against Rays right-handed pitching prospect Taj Bradley, who is making his MLB debut.
