Martin Perez Struggles In Wednesday Start
6 years agoMinnesota Twins left-hander Martin Perez struggled in his Wednesday start against the Cleveland Indians. Perez lasted just 4 2/3 innings while giving up five runs (two earned) in the eventual 9-7 loss to Cleveland. This goes down as the second straight rough outing for Perez, who has allowed 11 total runs in 7 1/3 innings over that span. Perez had been performing well on the mound up until that point but it appears that the rest of the league is starting to catch up to him. He now has a 7-2 record, 3.72 ERA, 1.42 WHIP, and 60 strikeouts in 65 1/3 innings of work. He will look to bounce back in his next start, which comes against the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday.
